  1. Those 30"+ amounts in that storm were truly epic.. I highly doubt we see those amounts.. Maybe 20-24" if good banding sets up.
  2. Ratios are already impressive.. Surface low is clearly west of all 12z guidance and RUC along with the SREFs continue to zero in on the hudson valley for intense banding.. Interesting day/night ahead
  3. RUC....SREFS & the MM5 still nail the area with intense banding. I thought I saw something mentioned by HPC that the low is now expected to be riding the western side of solutions. I would say a 10-20" snowfall is possible with the highest amounts near Monroe--Harriman area..
  4. We should do well on this side of the county... Both NAM/GFS print out 1"+ for 99% of the county.. high ratios with potential intense banding should yield some insane totals for a few lucky ppl in the HV
  5. Looks like the usual suspects are gonna jackpot with this storm.. West Milford---Tuxedo----Harriman----Monroe----Highland MIlls..
  6. Ratios should be pretty decent out here as well.... 15:1? 18:1?
  7. All I have to say is wow.. A sub 970mb low tucked under LI is ideal for these parts. Lets hope the 12z euro holds firm with this.
  8. Whats funny about all of this is how Will was telling you and I after the 00z Euro run that a further westward jog is unlikely... I guess its safe to say that at this point in time anything is possible.. Now that the infamous s/w over the southwest is coming ashore we might even see a further tug to the west come 00z tonight!
  9. What a disaster that storm was for up here.. This time the PV looks to get out of the way and pull this sucker west just in time.
  10. I was one year old during that storm so I wouldnt know first hand On the other hand... SNOWICANE II
  11. Looks like I got about the same... Some parts of lower Westchester had 2" or so.
  12. last night around 2am was a nightmare to drive on Rt. 6 & 17... I was all over the place and every other car was either in a ditch or on the side waiting for the salters.. primarily around Harriman is where i noticed the most ice. Once I got up to Middletown ice was spotty..
  13. Surprised to see a coating.. Lgt Snow still falling with a temp of 25*..
  14. We have been dropping like a rock the past few hours... Currently 11* Projected low of 5* might be in trouble if this continues..
  15. Yeah most of that area has some decent elevation. NW Ulster I would think holds the majority of the high peaks of the Catskills... The Shawangunk Ridge on the other hand is right on my doorstep... Literally 2 miles or so to my west. Elevations dramatically increase once you hit Otisville and going towards Ellenville. Most of the ridge in Orange county doesnt get above 1500' but once you cross into SW Ulster you can reach 2200-2400' in a hurry.. ie. Cragsmoor
  16. I agree.. Most ppl in the area consider Orange part of the Mid-Hudson Valley.. You probably have to go down towards Rockland & lower Westchester for it to be considered Lower Hudson Valley..
  17. Whenever we have some sort of NW flow our potential LE snows dry up around the Sullivan/Ulster county border.. If im not mistaken majority of the 4k peaks of the Catskills are located there.. ie. Slide Mtn..
