  1. Ok. That was a brilliant chip shot.
  2. Just as I thought Matsuyama might really start to put some space between himself an the field, he just air mailed the 18th green.
  3. It’s shaping up to be a fun Sunday.
  4. No but they just mentioned it as Justin Thomas butchered that hole
  5. It was a beautiful day. Took my son for a drive this evening, Rt.2 up to Williston. All the way up with the windows open. We ended up eating at Al’s Frys, long line at the creemee stand. Just like mid-summer
  6. It was a massacre. I didn’t get to watch much today. Sounds like Rose rose to the occasion and made a nice rally.
  7. What doesn’t kill us will make us stronger.
  8. I think he may have posted it in two threads.
  9. Holy crap, I didn’t realize Rose was +2 through 7 holes. He’s -9 since then. Gotta say, in no way could this have been seen coming.
  10. I think it’s worse in football because it’s much, much more a deliberate part of the sport so there is much more direct contact. In England they are looking at all the heading of balls soccer players are subjected to as being behind a seemingly high rate of dementia in retired professionals.
  11. Definitely and if you’re on, you can score. It tests all aspects of a player’s game including adaptability.
  12. Justin Rose lighting it up. -6 now. Bryson heading in the opposite direction at -5.
  13. We usually have 8-12 guys. Everyone ponies up $3. $1 for gross, $1 for net and $1 for low putts. We also have games within each foursome.
  14. Sort of but not US Open like. Not that I’m saying it’s like that. One of the things I love about the Master’s is the risk/reward nature and the fact that you can score if you play well.
  15. Yeah. It looks like conditions aren't letting anyone go deep today at least so he won't be completely out of it. I just say Vijay chip in for triple from behind the green on 15. In my regular group, that counts as a 0 putt so it would be the best of a bad situation since we play low, gross, low net and low putts.
  16. Rory has struggled. If I remember correctly, he was playing pretty well before the shutdown last year. He has some sort of mental block going on right now..
  17. Looks like I'm right on the southern edge.
  18. I have the tournament up on my second screen (thank you WFH). Some of the greens already have the beginnings of that slightly dry, brownish sheen, at least when viewed from above. Of course they are only televising 4,5 & 6 right now.
  19. I read something where he said his knee hurt when walking downhill. That gives me pause because of how hilly Augusta is.
  20. I remember suggesting you move up here. The VT State Police are constantly recruiting.
  21. But think about the meat and potato jobs that have been outsourced and downsized or turned into a “gig” rather than a job. That’s the overall lesson that’s been taught. Obviously it is not every company or every sector but it has been pervasive enough to leave an impression on a generation.
  22. I was just going to say, where does he think they learned that? It’s not like there are a lot of companies that are overly loyal either. And I don’t think it’s a chicken and egg thing, we know who crushed the loyalty out of people.
  23. That’s where I land too. The biggest thing, for me, is flexibility. I really liked the fact that I didn’t have to get up at 5:00 am and shovel the driveway and drive on crappy roads to get to work. Our prior wfh policy was so inflexible that I never bothered doing it. However, collaboration can be more difficult. I think a split week would be a great compromise and work well for most.
  24. That was some of it for me too. It will be 2 weeks from my second Moderna shot on Friday. No immediate side effects, no tail or horn growth and I haven’t caught COVID either. It’s been a win-win so far. I will say I’m probably closer to your lifestyle though Ginx. I usually don’t do big crowds in confined spaces. Occasional hockey or baseball games and once or twice a year if we travel for vacation. Most of my stuff is outside, golf and snowmobiling are pretty much cut out for staying away from crowds, with caveats about social situations that surround those activities.
