The Os just needed a series against the Twins to get straightened out.

LR doesn’t look very wet attm. My sandy soil yard is already dried up and hard after the recent rain. Might be time to fire up the drought thread. That said, 6-10, 8-14, and 3-4 week outlooks all show fair chances of below to normal temps. No big heat on the horizon.

It was breezy here and part of the reason I chose to bike today over hoops. I think the wind helped dry out the Frederick watershed…streams are running high, but the trail itself was in better shape than I expected.I had a slightly different experience on my bike. I like to get out on the road and a 30+ crosswind gust is no bueno lol.

Re the Os, I’m not too surprised at the early season struggles. Young team, big success last year, loads of hype going into this season, the Holliday hype has been through the roof, etc. wouldn’t be a huge surprise if all of this got into their heads a bit. They have a nice stretch coming up that will hopefully allow them to pad some wins before a huge early season 4 game season against the Yankees at home at the end of the month.
I’m still not sold on the pitching sans GRod and Burnes. Fortunately, they have pieces to use for a trade if they go that route.

Is it me or do wind forecasts generally fall to low? My forecast started out with gusts to 25. I believe BWI maxed out w a gust of 38. Wind over performing seems to be quite common.

Holliday being called up per Jeff Passan on X. Holy sheet.

A couple of downfalls of the trip
1. Waze sucks. I deleted the app... On the way home it took me through Youngstown
2. Why does PA have one lane closed from Breezewood to the MD line with no roadwork being done on I-70?
3. Why would MD close two lanes going up South Mountain knowing that traffic would be heavy.
With that all being said, I would to it again tomorrow.
This is the same penndot that has ongoing construction on pretty much all major routes into state college each fall during PSU football season despite knowing that game day Saturdays result in the town being inundated with traffic and becomes the 3rd largest city in the state behind Philly and Pittsburgh. Penndot does what they want to.

Just got to our rental north of Jackson, NH. Solid snow cover on the ground - currently in the mid 50s and sunny.
How far north are you planning to go?

The playbook is there for everyone’s knowledge re traffic. You should expect gridlock after totality. Better to be in a spot that will not require you to be on the road to view.

Enjoy this day outside before rain returns later Tuesday. Another inch + on its way.

NNE looks optimal right now. It being the start of mud season up there should make for some fun stories coming out of this.

Wind. More at 11.

6 games and this Os season has been wild already.

So we’ll see the sun again on Friday? At least it looks like things may warm up heading into next week.

Happy Easter all. Enjoy it outside if you can because this week looks like a real winner
