Yep, that’s been how it’s gone here. Watched areas just a few miles down the road get 1”+ while we barely got the edge of a collapsing cell. 0.12” for the day which brings the month to 0.17”

Same thing in Pikeville. O.12" for the last two weeks and 0.09" of that fell while were were trying to watch the towns fireworks.

Ouch. That corridor along 95 has been exceptionally dry. We’ve caught the edge of a few decaying mcs systems but they did not make it much further east of here. I’m surprised the storms yesterday totally collapsed east of US 1. Models definitely were more bullish for the area than reality. I do wonder if the extremely dry ground and surface condo may actually work to thwart some rain opportunities and storm development

I think the combination of the dry ground and pretty extensive cloud cover messed things up for us yesterday. I definitely had my hopes up since it was during the peak heat of the day.  I think it's to the point now of needing a tropical system or a deep tropical fetch for few days to get things back to normal.

Frustrating watching storms pop up all along the stalled front across South Carolina when just a few days ago most models had the front stalled across North Carolina with multiple days of rain. My backyard was one of the lucky ones yesterday to get a good soaking, but that was our largest rain for the month and only the 4th rain event all month. Being most of our rains were brief showers or storms, it was a heck of a lot of dry for June. Some models look slightly more wet for tomorrow, we will see. 1.70” for the month certainly leaves much to be desired, especially given the heatwaves that seemed to cause flash drought conditions across the area

The .03" that fell in my backyard yard in Pikeville yesterday brings my monthly total to .35" for the month.  Storms have missed my house by a matter of 1-2 miles in all directions over the last 4-6 weeks.

First line came thru and dropped a quick .15" with a wind gust to 18 mph and a temp drop from 83 to 74.

We had a few hundredths of an inch earlier in Pikeville, now the sun is out and it's a steambath, but at least the wind is blowing.

  5. Question for the group.  The attached image is from the 0z NAM3K last night and it was showing snow in the circled area which is south of the 540 line on the map. The image was valid for hour 10 of the model run.  Is it possible to receive snow between the 540 and the 546 line like the image shows, or would it be strictly rain?

Visiting my wife's family in west-central PA.  It not really that far as the crow flies from NC but the climate is completely different.  Mid 70s today with a brisk N wind.  Back home my PWS registered 2.64 inches today.  I have been having troubles with it lately so not sure if that is real.  Can anyone in east-central NC confirm that there was some heavy rain in the area between 2 and 4 pm?

Yeah, several rounds of thunderstorms went through Wilson County, one of which was severe. It was pretty much the only game in town though.
