  1. Snowing pretty heavily again here all of a sudden. Looks like a narrow band north of NYC is getting crushed.
  2. Between the two squalls, we got around an inch in 15 minutes.
  3. That was the heaviest snow I've seen since Nemo. Still heavy snow, but it's lightened up a lot. Round two incoming looks even more intense.
  4. Normal view: View during squall:
  5. Flipped to snow a few minutes ago in Middletown. 32F
  6. Think we might be near the northern extent of the IP in VT. Here in Reading, it started mixing with sleet about 30 minutes ago, but snow is now fighting back.
  7. 11.5" with moderate snow in Reading, VT. 28F in Middletown. Any ground truth from the Middletown area? I'm assuming (and hoping) for sleet vs. ZR.
  8. 11" in Reading, VT. Moderate snow, 13F.
  9. Observing from Reading, VT, this weekend. We've had light pixie dust for most of the afternoon/evening that has amounted to about an inch. It's picked up a little over the past few minutes. Optimistic for a good snow up this way. Plan to ski Pico tomorrow. 13F.
  10. Just flipped to sleet in Middletown, CT. 7.5" OTG. 29F
  11. That band bisecting Middlesex County won't quit. Still have moderate snowglobe snow. The fluff from earlier is settling faster than it's accumulating, though.
  12. Intensity has lightened up a bit, but the western band is actually expanding a bit with the western edge drifting west.
  13. Still living on the edge with heavy snow under the western band.
  14. Still cranking under that skinny band over central CT. Very heavy snow at times.
  15. That narrow western band is hanging tough (but by a thread) back here. Incredible snow-globe dendrites. Not sure how long it will stay stationary. 5.5" 31/30
  16. MLM has finally moved into Middletown. Hopefully it sticks around for a bit.
  17. Can't quite get into either the western or eastern band. Moderate snow on the fringe of the western band. About 4"
  18. About 1" so far. Moderate snow with decent growth despite being between bands. The band to our east seems to be making westward progress. 32/31
  19. These squalls mean business. Just captured this from Okemo's Web cam.
  20. Interesting. Yesterday the quality of skiing at the North Face was insanely high. It seemed 80% of the skiers had perfect powder and zipper-line mogul technique.
  21. Skied 30+ inches at Mount Snow today. Phenomenal. Woods were amazing! Virtually obstacle free (except for the trees, of course). One of those rare days when you can just charge right down all the steepest stuff. I skied Ripcord without hitting bottom, which hardly ever happens.Much of the front face is still untouched. Anyone who attempted to ski the untracked powder on the gentler pitches of the main face just got trapped. For PivotPoint, the advice you've gotten is good. Magic, though, is really in its own league in S VT in terms of steepness. There is nothing else like it south of Killington. Rip Cord at Mount Snow does have one truly steep pitch, but it's very short and usually glacial. The other North Face slopes are fun for advanced skiers, but no where near as challenging as much of the Magic trails.
