Windy today?
My bar supposedly blew over at some point overnight and according to my wife there is broken glass all over the place on my porch. I just got back from LA last night so if I would have known I would have put the bar away. I hate friggin wind.

Stupid question to the experts here…looking like a decent amount of rain Wed night into Thursday and “breezy.” I have to fly out to LAX midday Thursday. How “breezy” are we looking at because I’m hoping to get out of JFK as close as on time as possible.

I’d say 3-4 inches of cement by me. 2 nice, somewhat, little events both easy to clean up and shovel. I like that. Kids happy. I’ll take it.

It didn't threaten it actually came out and most of the snow on the trees has already fallen off or melted and we have large puddles on the streets now. An hour after it got done snowing, a significant amount of snow has already melted lol.
Unpopular opinion…I don’t mind at all. Love getting the occasional 2-footer, and love the sight of the snow in the air, but once the storm has cleared, it can all melt as far as I’m concerned. If it’s not a monster storm, anything less than a foot gets sloppy and inconveniencing.

Tell me about it, I’ve been working there, for the most part, since ‘97 and if you can believe it, it’s even worse. lol, my home away from home unfortunately.

Just left for work, so shoveled a 2nd time…gonna guess close to 6” on my lawn (W Babylon). Figuring another inch from what’s left to come.
Kids are with their pop now, who’s a large child himself, so everyone’s happy. I always look forward to Spring, it’s my favorite time of year, but it was pretty nice seeing the large flakes and the nice landscapes for a few hours this morning.- 2

Snow has picked up significantly in the last 5 or 10 minutes, particularly the size of the flakes. Big, silver dollar pillows falling and still not much wind yet. If it keeps up like this until mid-afternoon, we will easily hit predictions.
First plow of the day just went by.

Juicy radar incoming off the Atlantic heading toward most of Long Island. We haven’t seen snow like this since January of ‘22.

So….when does the blizzard start?
Or, the total bust?
Oh, can you guys and girls above, like, White Plains/New Rochelle let us coastal people get a little something? Ya greedy bastards

Huge wind gusts just rolled through here. LGA is going to have some impressive recordings.
I’m guessing I’ve gotten higher gusts in the last hour or so than I got last night.

The one thing I (think) I learned in all those years I lurked and read was that the money got earned on the 0z and 12z models and the 6z and 18z models were “clown” models. Am I wrong about that? In a nutshell.

Beautiful out with full sun here. Temp mid 40s. Calm before another storm.
I’ve been feeling like crap the past 2 days so I took a little 3-mile jog and it was beautiful out. No wind at all.

lol, you start throwing around terms like “snow” and “accumulation” and this storm is getting completely ignored.

Supposedly Fire Island breached at Ocean Beach and they had to cut the substation there. Crazy. I saw a quote that someone there said the flooding was worse than Sandy.

I didn't put my recycling out last night, wasn't worth the cleanup the wind would have caused. I hate when a neighbors trash/recycling ends up on the property. Good luck on the cleanup.
I had a train to make and I’m not home until 10:45 tonight. I’m hoping whoever’s crap this is, they do the right thing and clean it up.

Very! Several people around town are going to have to hunt for their recycling cans. Then there are the people further down the street who put their recyclables out LAST NIGHT, cans and bottles which are now decorating a variety of lawns.
After I took much care with my 2 cans (put them out after the squall line, and flooding, with bricks on top of both cans), I just left for work and I have someone else’s crap all over my grass and street. I’m pretty pissed off about it because by the time I saw this it was too late to do anything about it. Plus, they picked up the recycling at 6:30, so when did these people put their cans out, after pickup??

Strong west wind kicking up. Considering what we’re getting Friday night, I’m leaving everything packed up for a little bit. Made it through unscathed, hopefully everyone else did too.

Damn, legit stream going down my block. It’s not raining as torrentially has a minute or two ago but I stuck my head out, still pouring. Winds have definitely died down about 20 minutes now.
-
There is legit flooding in the intersection of my block. I’ve lived here 17 years now, I’ve seen this like twice.

I tried to take a video but it sucks. Street is flooded, the water is piling onto my lawn because of the wind and direction. Man, this is wild.
-
Lightning. Sick out right now. Pouring. lol, street flooding in like 2 minutes, unbelievable.
