At 2 pm, PDT, Portland had a temperature of 109°. That destroys the daily record of 98°, set in 2000. It also surpasses the all-time record high of 108° that was set just yesterday. The difference over yesterday at this time has increased to 13°.

Is that heat headed towards us anytime soon? I certainly hope not!

Heal fast and thorough, RE. You have plenty of fine posts ahead of you. As always ……

Thank you I had my belly button hernia done and it’s not an easy surgery but it’s done now and I’m happy I did it. Though I wish I did it during spring or fall. But my job didn’t let me do that so here I am. Outside again very nice under the shade with a bit of a breeze. Currently 88 degrees!

because thats boring, I'd rather have 105 and dry

Yes 105 and dry would be okay I’ve been to Phoenix at 120 and dry and it’s bad but not nearly as bad as 100 and humid!

It looks like the WAR is a little flatter on the 12z Euro. So the maximum 850mb temperatures are  closer to our area. The Euro now has mid 90s in NJ with more SSW flow. But the dew points are still very high due to the trajectory from near the Bahamas.

New Euro forecast for 0z Tuesday

    Old forecast

That looks cooler than the older run hopefully that trends cooler because honestly who wants 90’s with high dews when you can have days like today 70’s with no humidity

well according to the info i looked up yes it is pleasant summer temps..

I guess I was wrong. Im trying to stay in the states or maybe move to south Canada. Retiring in 2 years

  7. Good morning all, it’s 59 degrees with that muggy feeling, I can’t wait for some real heat hopefully it doesn’t get too humid. I’m originally from Europe and the weather here during the winter is much colder and much more humid during the summer still never really get used to it. I’m looking to move when I retire in a few years to Lake Tahoe

Thank you Tony, I see you received your first Weenie, congratulations. If you think ‘grilling’ is a summer pastime just wait until winter with a frozen threat on the horizon. As always ....

Just look at the Southern Hemisphere weather it’s coming down
