Well it is official. Oldest Ms J let us know that she will be studying in Prague in the fall. As part of the AU Abroad program she will be attending one of the oldest film schools in Europe. And the rest of the family has decided that we will all go and pick her up in December. I have always wanted to see the Christmas Markets. And as her program end date is December 19th we are heading over for the Holidays.

That's great news and is a great experience for her!  Trying to get mine to look at the abroad program they have in London.  She initially wanted to and now is not so sure.

The Orioles starting pitching looks shaky. Not too surprising. Additions will be needed at some point. Burnes needs to be the stopper today.

Unpopular opinion here.  Sign Trevor Bauer at league minimum.  If he hasn't learned and still is a jackass, the release him.  He wants to prove himself again and might be worth the risk.

  3. Just on a teams call with some of my development team in NYC area...It was wild seeing the effects of the earthquake as it hit.

4.7 is large for this part of the country and I'm Hoping that there isn't a lot of unseen damage since a lot of the buildings up there are a lot older and were built probably without considerations of earthquakes.

Gotten woken up by a doozy…healthy little line of storms. Basically getting beeline’d atm.

This line went straight down 70 from both of you and now we have some nice rumbling thunder and lightning  here too.

    lol UConn

My son's teammate has a brother who starts at UConn this year....#12 --> Spencer.  He played at Rutgers and transferred to UConn this year. I hear he is projected to be a third round pick.

Their older brother played lacrosse at Loyola for 4 years, won the Tewaarton award.  He then played a year of basketball at Northwestern.  He was playing G-League ball for the Warriors and was called up on a 2 way contract a few weeks ago. Scored his first points and Chris Paul got the game ball for him.

    Amazingly athletic gene pool.

Steelers literally steal Justin Fields from the Bears for a 6th round pick in next years draft. I predicted this was gonna happen when they traded Pickett, but not for that meager price. There are bunch of teams that need a QB, and none were willing to give up a late round pick for this dude?

It makes no sense why the Bears gave him away for nothing.  Fields was worth a lot more than that.

Undertow is my fave. So raw and untamed. Made me drive fast a lot lol. Like any new band with a new sound that gets popular.... big production takes over and the gritty raw appeal just goes away. Aenima was still pretty raw and awesome but the change was in motion. Tool became very polished to my ear with Lateralus and 10k days. Lost me as a regular. Lots of bands do this.

Rush and RHCP are big examples. Early stuff had a massive following and later stuff did too.... just different people. Countless examples. I loved 311's first 2 releases. Burned them up but man did they fall apart... and become really popular... lol. I have a knack for finding new sounds that I love then watch business run the sound into the ground lol

Concert was great!  They played Intolerance :-)  The only bad taste in my mouth was that they couldn't set up all of their stage and lighting because the Baltimore Arena is so small to fit everything.   Funny thing is that this popped up today on Youtube and these guys get it -->

Not everyone is wired for Prog Rock. Too different form the mainstream music with all the basic timing and autotuning.

My 18 y/o daughter somehow fell in love with RHCP and Weezer.  Saw both of them with her last year.  She has tickets to Greenday/Smashing Pumpkins this summer.  Also loves Billy Joel and is starting to listen to pink floyd.  Somehow I must have raised her to appreciate more than Taylor Swift :-)

Loved Tool during their prime. Maynard is a musical genius and Adam Jones is... well... Adam Jones lol.

I've mellowed out last 10 years and don't listen to heavy stuff nearly as much but it was a big part of my musical tastes for many years

If you haven't listened to their latest from 2019, you should.  It's really good.

Going to see A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primus in April in Atlantic city as well.   Never seen a Perfect Circle, so happy to get the chance.

    Name checks out

Goes all the way back to 1996 and my first horrible fantasy football team. :-)

The team was so bad that some of the folks in that league tried to change the name to ToolSh1ts.

  10. Anyone feel/hear a very loud rumble which lasted about 3 seconds at approximately 3:45?  the house shook, and others a few miles away felt it as well.  USGS has no earthquake listed, so just curious.

@Eskimo Joe, Any fire activity that you know of? My mother usually calls me when something close comes over the scanner, but she didn't.

On a positive side note. Doing a crop of weed in my greenhouse from September to the end of December has been easy. No real cold, low humidity levels has saved a lot on electricity. The plants have done amazing as they are entering week 6 of flower. Looks like a stinky Christmas ahead lol

I say we just forget about the Reaper and crown you the "Reefer".   You can help everyone relax come late December relax if we don't see any snow.

It’s not even winter yet and the long range thread is messy af

It really is.  I don't have any education in weather but really enjoy coming here to learn and post observations.  I really wish that some folks can understand what banter is and where it should be posted.  I'm sure that I am guilty of bantering outside of that thread, but ti does get cumbersome trying to read through the "junk" to get to the legit posts and real discussion.

It would be nice to be bale to create a thread and only let certain folks --Mostly Red Taggers and a select few be allowed to post within.  That would definitely keep down on the noise.

Pleasantly surprised with the Caps this season.

They keep finding ways to win.

Seems like getting some of the young ones from the farm system is paying off.  I wasn't expecting much this season and still am not holding high hopes, but will be happy as long as it lasts.

I do think that Ovi will take longer to get to Gretzky though than most people think.

That heavy rain came together on top of me. Still raining hard! 1.64 inches so far!! That line looks so intense!

Picked the middle child up from Towson this afternoon and it was bad.  Then turned around and went to pick #3 up from Philly.  I left at 4L30 and didn't arrive up there until 8:45.  We just pulled in.  Hit that heavy line on the way back on 95 near White Marsh.  It was intense and the visibility was probably only about 100 feet at times. Off to bed.

Black Friday isn't for shopping, it is for Christmas decorations.

Just saw a commercial for a NFL game on Friday afternoon.....I really miss the days when football was just on Sunday afternoons and Monday night.
