The Annual AMS is in Baltimore this year so I’m walking around downtown right now among sad Ravens fans.  If I squint at the purple I get bad Vikings flashbacks.

1.51" which brings my total to 12.68" since Dec. 1st.  The ground is a bog.

HRRR and 3km NAM are plenty wet tonight.  1.25”-2” over a good chunk of us.

Rodney, I wonder how many times the top two temperatures for a month have happened on the same date.  We had that oddity yesterday with 1/26/50 previously being the high for the month.

And my wife flipped the AC on.  I hope this is an unbeatable first AC day of the year.

Morning low of 61.3 on Jan 26th.  Sure.

Current snowpack status 

Low of 28.  Snowpack is looking ragged in the sunny spots.  Today will be rough.

I can umagine if a thermometer is out in front of the Williard with macadam , brick and buildings then radiation is hampered, if you live in a townhouse ior apartment and your thermometer is secured on or around the building then the same thing.  Out in a field surrounded by open space and runway then same Doesnt  apply.  But, it’s FAA and not NWS. 

 

The two personal weather stations right near, but across the river from DCA were 22 and 21 for lows.

Can I complain about IAD being ridiculously low when my low was 17?

Added 1” on 0.09” precip beyond 7am yesterday, for a total of 3.5” on 0.30” precip.  Good ratios, we were just too far south for the good stuff.  Congrats MD and LoCo.

I've been stuck at 2.5" as well.  Getting some fatties right now but would need this to keep going to offset compaction.  Its nice to see it snow so I'm happy as hell.  

 

2.5" already beat what i expected out of this storm

You aren't wrong.  I wiped off the car and shoveled the sidewalks at 8am and they are just wet.  Still, snow on snow is working out.

It has been snowing since 7am when I got my 2.5", but the accumulation has been paltry right up until this latest band with the dendrites started. 

I'm all in on my extra 1.5" overnight from the streamer on the HRRR

Radar is really looking good in MD

2.5” on 0.21” precip.  And more importantly, up to 5” on the ground, which makes up for any compaction/melting from the last storm.
