I got up to a paltry 81 here in SW VA today. Even had a few drops of rain.

Per James Spann. Euro ensembles are on board with a big cooldown.

38.7 for the low on my wx station.
Damn. Guess my cheap thermometer on the wall of the house isn't that accurate. It sure felt like 30s this morning. Gonna take some getting used to this climate zone. Nothing like Columbia SC.

Good luck getting anything on the SE coast with that stupid monster death ridge that refuses to leave like an obnoxious in-law.
-
Got down to 41 here this morning.

Dry as a bone in CAE. Missed the line of storms that came through last Friday. Don't even remember the last time we got a good soaking IMBY. Welcome the cooler temps this weekend but, man, need some rain. Nothing but sunshine on the 10 day last I checked either.
Sounds like typical CAE weather. Hot and almost always dry. Enjoy the badly needed break from the searing heat.

Overcast and a cool 65 degrees.

It's here in the New River Valley. Currently 76 after a high of 80. Nice Northeast breeze. Was a hot 88 yesterday.

Just saw the track of PTC 9. Bad news for those hoping for rain and an end to the record heat.
-
Been hot here too. 91 yesterday and 89 today. I've been seeing the leaves changing here too.

Well looks like CLT has recorded 98 each of the past two hourly readings, and could easily have notched up to 99 or even 100 between hours. Meanwhile at 4pm, both GSP and CAE showing 95, ATL 97, AVL 91, PTI reached 94. That is a record at both CLT and AVL, ties record at GSP. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
How on Earth is Columbia cooler than Charlotte and the same as GSP?

Hot and humid. 91/78. Hopefully this will be our last visit into the 90's for awhile.
I wouldn't count on that. I've heard people say that since August. Many areas will probably see 90s into October.

Heads up Wilmington NC. Tornado warning.

Wow, you people are so damn butthurt over that election. Isn't there a political thread for this bullshit?????

Thanks, yes it will be. Not at all happy to go thru another one of these so close to Florence. Wife has now agreed to move after I retire next year.
Where do you plan on moving? I just moved from Columbia SC To Christiansburg VA in the mountains. I'm content on watching this storm from afar.

I am about 10 miles southeast of Downtown New Bern. That cell that produced that tornado went thru my area first with just heavy rain little wind. Phone warnings have been going crazy this afternoon.
Glad you're ok. Close call for sure. Still gonna be a long night in your area.

Isn't Yotaman near New Bern?

Is it ever gonna rain again???

Pretty cold this morning here in the mid 40s. Does not feel like August and really weird tracking a hurricane while it feels like winter here.

I would say as of now. Everyone from Miami to Cape Hatteras should be monitoring this.

Howdy neighbor! Welcome to the area. We'll certainly be keeping an eye on it here.
Thank you. Moved here from Columbia SC. It is a beautiful area, and a lot cooler than Columbia.

Just moved to Virginia. Guess those of us in SW VA should keep an eye on Dorian.

Refreshing high of 70 with partly cloudy skies after a chilly low of 50.

A gorgeous 61 outside here after a low of 58. NWS has a high of 66 here. Can't believe it's still August.

Looks like a storm just parked itself over Blythewood. Been sitting there a while.
