GFS and many of the GEFS ens members say mother nature has a way of averaging/balancing things out and to wait until after mid month before even considering writing Feb/winter off.

This has been "on the radar" and quite a vigorous signal for a LR lead time for a few days now....consistently:

And before anyone says ^^ it's too far West, its a fragile setup, etc keep in mind this is 10 days away and might vanish completely let alone be too tucked. Point is, dont take verbatim but know thay chances are still showing and we aren't in a close the blinds pattern by any means.

    It's a lock.

    1-2ft region wide.

mt holly stays with the ice storm warnings. Indicate may not change to plain rain. Very interesting and bullish (LV POC)

It's already plain rain. Just drove across the LV and it's 34F the whole way. Up rt 33 dropped to 32F but no sign of ice accrual.

  3. Shouldn't the configuration of the subforums be about weather rather than the current configuration of the posters? Based on that criteria the region from PHL to NYC should be a single subforum, as it was in the past. Just saying.

Why is that? Weather in the NW Philly suburbs can be wildly different that NYC or long island. We aren't even in the same NWS CWA. By your argument we should just have one subforum for earth weather.

  4. Wow...I haven't been on the board for awhile (I'm mostly a winter guy) but it is sad to read about all the conflict that has occurred in recent times. I have fond memories of the times at "eastern" (i think that was the name) and then good times when we all came here. Since I haven't posted in almost a year I'm not sure if my vote should count but I still prefer our own forum fwiw. As most others do, I check facebook sites and other weather forums too but I will gladly continue to come here too for as long as the board lasts.

    Happy New Year everyone!!

Well said. Many who were around since easternuswx probably agree.

  5. There are some great people and quality posters in the nyc sub forum. Mods have been doing a good job of rooting out the trolls and drama queens so fighting has been much less then in the past

So what do you gain, allot. You can still have a permanent philly thread like we do for out NW burbs and Long Island

So what is the point? I can go read the NYC forum as easily as I could read a separate NYC thread.
