we also seem to have scorching summers every 11 years. summer of 1944, 1955, 1966, 1977, 1988, 1999, 2010. that means this summer is going to be brutal. get ready.
You can pretty much say that about every summer after the super el nino.

Hope you like La Nina livin'

After about the 18th, which the models show an apps runner/cutter with temps in the 60s, the GEFS shows sustained upper 40s/low 50s highs till the end of the run. I'll take that.

So based on my analysis, and the various vectors relevant to current atmospheric conditions and trends (past, present, and future), I believe that the precipitation shield is traveling at approximately a 30 degree northeasterly angle relative to the magnetic poles (not accounting for flat map distortion or curvature of the earth). Therefore, based on the observable rates and airborne buoys engineered for data collection purposes, in addition to geometric conditions, the immediate D.C. area, including areas slightly north, south, east, and west at varying distances from a central radius, should expect somewhere in the area of 16" to 20" inches.
Of rain.
Something went wrong. I only received about a flurry and a half of snow instead of the 20 inches of rain like was promised.

Number 69 looks nice.

I cant believe we are going to go through a 2 month historic blocking period without getting crushed at least once. It appears that way anyways.
La ninas can be a real b*tch.

Outside of a light glaze, eff ice storms.
Luckily, despite what models often advertise, it rarely materializes over here. This upcoming week is going to be a waste of prime snow climo in the end. Goddam Nina.
All three ensembles have a pattern change to above normal temperatures after the 20th. I believe winter is over the last week of february barring another blocking episode.

You don't wanna move somewhere just because they have a ton of snow. It's probably not going to workout for you. You will be bored pretty damn fast.

The snow looks amazing this morning.

The southern Delmarva peninsula is famous for its heavy snows and deep snowpack starting mid-feb and running through mid-june.

If only it was traveling at a 40 degree angle relative to the magnetic poles, then we would have gotten even more rain.

This is just a "bad luck" -NAO/-AO winter, and we still managed to get a few nickel and dime events at the very least. We just happened to be at the low end of things for those kinds of winters. 2009/10 OTOH...
I've had about half of my seasonal total in just 2-3 weeks.

I’d be careful with the para and cmc right now. I’m not saying sleet/ice won’t be an issue next week, but idk this vort pass screams bgm to Boston to me. That’s just me though not trying to be a Debbie downer
When does something ever not favor BGM to Bahston?
