Temperatures are iffy with this. Would be a rain/snow mix as it stands now....
Based on current models, accumulation would be tough. Several warm and SUNNY days ahead of this will limit initial accumulations and especially on roads (good thing)
If the rates are good enough it doesn't matter.

The GFS has been a seesaw the last couple of runs. Now it's back to this again.

So, you're saying you already knew measurable snow was done as of Feb 3rd? Interesting. I'd like to know how you know this being that RDU's best major snow climo doesn't even start til mid-Feb and it goes through the first few days of March. Moreover, as of today in history, only 22 of the 47 6"+ RDU snowstorms on record have occurred by this date with 25 of them having occurred Feb 6th or later!

Another winter here with snow totals below 6 inches.

Well, if we aren't going to get anymore snow, bring on Spring and give Winter here a D once again.

In what recent case?
Just two weeks ago when we had a decent snow here and 48 hours before it was showing the precip well east.

I'm curious to know why you pick Friday.
Because we have seen things change drastically before just 24 hours out.

I wouldn't discount anything until at least Friday.

Yea…. But the point is with every storm this 4-5 day period comes and ALL of them except Jan 15th event go to the flat progressive look ….we say this every time “ohh the NW trend” the NW trend hasn’t existed for 3 weeks now and won’t exist here either…. Not trying to be a pessimist just saying I’ve been fooled 2x now on this same thing, not happening again
Well, since you know what's going to happen no sense in wasting your time on here.

Don't forget how the storm we had just two weeks ago looked only 48 hours out. Completely changed with 24 hours to go after it was showing it way east.

Good run for the GFS. I think the trend today has been positive. This looks like a legit threat.

Guess we'll see the Euro stepping towards the GFS again.

Looks like we have trended better the last 24 hours to having a winter storm here. As usual, the questions remain exactly what kind of frozen precip we will get and how much.

Euro doesn't have much.
