Guess it was a bust.
Never said it was a bust. I said NJ was getting the death band they did. Never made it to Long Island. Was obvious early on.

@psv88 how'd you do? Even for portions N of the band should have at least 2 or 3 inches. Was never in heavy rates where I am in Yaphank and still have close to 3 and snowing still.
3” or so

About 3” here in NW Suffolk. Still coming down. Models and Upton were dead on accurate. Can probably squeeze out another .5”
currently 29 and moderate snows.
16” for the season

32/24 here. Watching that awesome band look for all the world like it wants nothing to do with the north shore.
It also looks to be about a mile south of weatherpruf.
It’s not our storm. Can’t get em all.
Light snow and 31, not even a dusting though.

Tomer Burg says the northern band of snow is dying out as the southern band takes control and strengthens, which would lead to a dry slot north of Trenton. Concerning if it happens.

Still wild they are 8 degrees warmer with cloudy skies. Not exactly radiating out here either.

City is still 40 degrees. Remarkable really

My point is the gfs doesnt show 14-16 hours of snow. If it isnt true, why post it?
I think he meant 4-6 hours

Two events in a row that trended better for the metro. This should get northern LI to 15” on the season.

13” on the season here. If I get to 15” I’ll consider it a success.

My Muttontown station is at 154 feet & Syosset is at 230 feet in elevation. 3 miles apart.
I’m at about 160 at my house. Just west of me is close to 300. Everyone hundred feet matters in these setups

It would take more than 5 more years to reach that mark: 2,572 days (March 1, 1949 through March 15, 1956).
But everyone said the 50s were so snowy….we walked to school in 6 feet of snow backwards while barefoot…

Islip at 4.3” seems low. Upton was at 5.5” at the same longitude. Maybe they didn’t measure until there was compaction?

1am sleet was falling on my roof while heading to bed & at 4am saw on camera wife’s car was white. Knew things were on track for 4-8”. Happy we finally got a storm to produce, it has been over 2 years I think.
I think we had that 5” slop fest last year?
up to 13” on the season here, almost halfway to average. A few event this seek could get us to 15”. Not terrible

The Euro was absolutely horrific with this storm. Even this morning it was showing 12-16” on kuchera for NJ and the city/LI, with much less further north.
