North trended MKE and DET to 0 flakes. IMBY - a snowy NW trend in the meat of winter hasn't existed for yrs. That's the way she blows though.

Point taken. I guess it was more of a IMBY whine. I can't remember a NW trend storm here in the middle of winter in yrs. This storm wreaks like all the other wannabe's on the north side.

Yeah, Cyclone. The atmosphere on the streets yesterday was on fire. The backyard south facing sun without a cloud in the sky all day along with light wind and 56 degrees yesterday was as good as it gets in January if it won't snow. A day I'll remember for sure.

.68 of rain today for a record topping 2008's .50" Topped out at 51 - not a record today. 63 is the record, 2008 Picked up .68" of rain, grass is pretty green and dense now here. Looking like a shot of more rain tomorrow with something white maybe mixing in. Little to no accum.

Nino winters never ever excite me so thankfully I didn't take the bait and had this winter pegged for meh before it started. Also the cold and snow in fall just had the feel of we will pay for it when it matters to me during the holidays. Sure enough another dud december. There is still hope for those off to the south and east to pull off a fine 2nd half to winter for sure.

Haha, yeah At 44 yrs old I get just as amped waiting for that first flake of every event to fly in the floodlight as I did when i was 4. But as you get older and realize just how bad your climo is, I've come to accept that outside of living in a FES Belt - the Midwest just sucks for a snow pack weenie like myself and as so I don't let my expectations of winter rise above the the terrible winter wx weenie climo we live in.

Yr 4 in a row of shitty winters IMBY so this stink is nothing new and I don't really care either way if it snows again this winter. I do thoroughly enjoy the meltdowns so there is something positive about this ratter so far.

SNE Sub-Forum is always a great read. Whenever I'm trolling around over there the pattern is normally in the dumps and we're searching for anything positive going forward. Good thing winter is flying by and we''ll know soon enough if the flip ever comes or if buckeye gets to start digging Koi Ponds in Feb.

Well the snowfall map of the Euro gave a nudge to the north in to the prettier colors. Does it have one more nudge to a half a foot longer in it.

This has been a pretty slick November to date. And now we have a storm barreling down on Chicago during thanksgiving travels to deliver thundersnow. This is shaping up to be one thats remembered for a long time.
