    Anyone watching the AAFL games this year? If so, which team are you rooting for? For me, I'm rooting for Atlanta due to how close it is to East TN and former Vol Matt Simms is the starting QB.

    I don't blame you. I might be doing the same. Just come on here to report snow amounts if I get some. I've caught the cliffdiver-itis, and I dont know if I can stand following another storm only to see it do nothing noteworthy.

    MRX is starting to jump on board. Here's their latest AFD: "The main weather feature of interest will be a stronger short-wave moving southeast from the northern Plains into the Great Lakes/lower Ohio Valley late Monday through Tuesday. The northern stream wave will phase with a southern stream jet over the lower Mississippi River Valley pulling moisture northeastward into the Tennessee/Ohio Valleys. A strong arctic front will sweep through the region sometime Tuesday. The GFS is the fast and pulls the front into the area by 12Z, while the ECMWF is slower and more toward 18Z. Either way the precipitation will likely begin as rain (rain/snow higher terrain), but quickly transition to snow. Strong jet dynamics with this short-wave with deep lift for about 6 hours. Snow accumulations are looking more likely with this system, even across the Tennessee Valley. Since this system is several days away, snowfall forecast will likely change, but currently 2 to 4 inches is possible most locations with higher amounts across the higher terrain. Additional light snowfall is possible Tuesday night. "

    I got a funny story. At my house, I had no snow on the ground when i woke up. I just left for work and when I reached the top of my driveway and went on my road, there was a dusting on the grass all the way to La Follette.

    With such little talk now about tomorrow and more about the long range, I'm guessing the midweek storm is going to be a rain event.

    My house is situated in a valley surrounded by ridges in 3 different directions. It can get pretty windy sometimes.

    I stood out there for 15 minutes, and I may have had a couple very brief weak wind gusts, but that's about it. It's cold and calm.

    Calm winds and maybe a flurry or 2 at my place. It's barely spitting out any snow.

    Just my 2 cents, but out of all the weather message boards I've visited, Americanwx is number 1 in my book. I definitely appreciate all of the short and long term weather discussions by meteorologists and weather enthusiasts on this site. I've learned a good bit more about the weather by being on this site.

    I just got my internet working again. I got about 2 inches. It was a letdown when you consider what we could have potentially had, but I'm happy to get at least that much to start out the winter.

    Well, at least MRX finally acknowledged the Plateau. Still didnt extend the watch to our neck of the woods, John. Definitely some encouraging trends this afternoon in the models.

    I was getting ready to come on here and mention this. I thought it was strange that the northern plateau isnt getting any discussion. It's hard to tell if they are grouping the Plateau with the lower elevations or the higher elevations group.
