I'm not to familiar with the wrf any input on verification scores. Dew points getting down to 26 here with heavy rates also 850s along the escarpment looks cold so hopefully we can hang on to some sleet.

I think the 3k is a good general idea also as others have said watch the dew points.

Sleets not bad its the leaves on the trees guna have major power problems if it's predominately zr. Sleets like gravel tbh easier to brake on vs snow ice anyway what about a thread guys who guna bring the mojo as in a nice cold rain lol

We gunna have to hunker down an hold on tight here along the escarpment! Even with high rates if we get down to what the rgem is showing 2.0 of precipitation we could end up with a half inch of ice. Here too a sleetfest fingers crossed...…..

Any good weather stations for under a $100 bucks? Appreciate any input.

Very tricky forecast to say the least! Been watching this thing for a week being right on the escarpment im praying sleet and heavy rates will limit any ice and keep my power on. That used to not bother me if the power went out but as i have a son now ill pass.

Ive been watching this for two days (Euro Ensembles) have maintained a cluster of hits in south carolina. And i agree completely we dont need the rain i dont wish this storm on no one but after our little lake tahoma dam scare back this summer im good on floods for a while theirs nothing scarier going door to door at 2 a.m in the morning trying to evacuate people knowing a wall of water could come your way at any moment...

Thats the main thing that you guys are safe. I know there will be those who stay behind and as a firefighter i know all to well the consequences. Some of my best memories was on the banks with my papaw. Hopefully i will get to share the same places and experiences with my son... Anyway god bless and stay safe.

Ill take a almost 1040 in that spot anyday. Gives me room for a NW trend strong enough for cold air but not to strong or south to supress. For the western part of the state anyway. Its crazy what elevation can do ive seen some crazy changes within 100 feet.

Ive seen 4in of snow at the mcdowell/rutherfordton county line at the top of south mountain gap on hwy 226. And literally seen it pour ssnow on one side of the sighn and rain on the other with no snow on the ground within a matter of feet!!!! Craziest thing ive ever seen.

+1 Im waiting till at least Tuesday. But thats just me.
