  1. Almost slipped a few times lol. Beautiful day coming up.
  2. I love the Christmas season and the music that goes with it.
  3. Lol. I have to admit, as we enter December, I really do look forward to tracking snow/cold. It takes me awhile to exit "summer mode" and get ready for the winter season.
  4. Snowing here too, just some flakes starting to stick. As much as I miss Summer, it is kind of nice to once again see the radar lit up with Lake Effect bands after a strong cold front comes through.
  5. Definitely. Both explain weather phenomenon very well IMO. Speaking of leaf drop, my neighbors tree (which is almost entirely over our property) usually doesn't shed until after Thanksgiving, sometimes even into December. However, after last Friday's cold and wind combo, they dropped off faster than I've ever seen before. Most other trees around here are either completely bare, or if they do have leaves it is a mix of brown/dull colors. Really not much green left. Unlike last year, I waited to start raking until now, otherwise the leaves come right back.
  6. It's a shame, I hope radio doesn't die out. I like 101.1, 104.3, 103.7, and many others. Fun to listen to the various DJ's. But, as we see more and more, the human element of things is being replaced/removed.
  7. I like going by the criteria that makes it seem further away On the other hand, Summer starts on June 1st...
  8. It came on way too fast. If this was February I wouldn't mind. I'd gladly take 60s right now.
  9. I thought we were going to torch this month as well, especially coming off such a warm October. I'm surprised I saw anything frozen today.
  10. Nah, the other night looked promising, but clouds ended up getting in the way. 34 is my lowest temp so far.
  11. It's a shame because we had very nice color here, but it didn't last long and a lot of trees thinned out early. Not bad though considering the rough start. Like I said in the interior forum, my first hard freeze usually comes in strong, and this year is no exception. Friday's low is forecasted to be 23° currently.
  12. Congrats buddy. Defintely great weather to enjoy your first family moments outside the hospital.
  13. It seems I always go big with my first hard freeze and hit the 28 mark. The clouds really got in the way of things this time around though. Only hit 34.
  14. Yeah, Spearfish has the most rapid temperature change ever recorded. In just two minutes it went from -4° to 45°. Loma, Montana has an incredible record as well, where it went from -54° to 49° in 24 hours. That's a 103° change! Can't forget Browning, Montana where it dropped from 44° to -56° in a day. Montana also holds the record for coldest temperature in the lower 48, which is -70° at Rogers Pass.
  15. Yeah the trees that are still green almost look like they did during the Summer lol. Unfortunately anything with color took a big hit.
  16. Same thing happens to me Jim on my Android. Never get it on the iPad though.
  17. That was the year where the Boston area had that massive glacier in an empty lot (they trucked snow there from the metro because it was building up too much) that lasted into July. I posted about it awhile back. It was an incredible season for snow and cold.
  18. That's true. Even small towns have ridge/valley sections along with mountains, which can really effect the temps.
  19. Yep, I said this in the other thread. I'm right at climo for first frost. Killing Freeze usually comes sometime in November.
