Funny story, like 5 days before eagles nfc championship vs falcons I told my dad there was a potential snowstorm for the game. I was in met. school at the time. My pop called WIP and told them, hour later Hurricane Schwartz got on the air and told them about the threat lol…. Of course it did snow, but the night before the game

    .

coldest i've ever been at a game, i remember my beer freezing before i could finish it at some point in the second half

Trend has been the same here, the modeled pile size has been shrinking. Really hoping for a reversal of the south/drier trend, as are most of us. Whatever we get will stick, so if it snows, there will be pics!

Still thinking 4 inches is a reasonable expectation here, shouldn’t have mixing issues and could see some banding on the northern edge…can’t remember the last time we hit 6 inches here so a little disappointing but what are you gonna do

The  topic is our enjoyment and not  your feelings of disgust

lol what is your problem? first of all, i love oysters, as i said previously...second of all, we were just bantering about oysters, in a banter thread...if you want to start a positive-only thread on oysters, please feel free and i'll keep all pea crab discussion out...

The are bivalves  so they are shut tight and I’m not sure exactly how water gets processed thru while nothing else. I suspect the crablike things were introduced from an outside source and never entered nor exited the shell.

AND the topic was created and revolves are those who like oysters  so not seeking comments about how disgusting they are. Be a grown up .

    the fuq?

well i mean oysters open their shells when they are in the water to feed i assume...the crabs are parasites so they are definitely in there living in the oyster gunk

    this is pleasant

Little is known about the pea crab's feeding habits,[5] but in the related oyster crab (Zaops ostreus), larval stages feed on plankton brought in by the oyster, while adults feed by taking the food that is a part of the oyster's diet, as well as what is not.[6] The feeding process can be harmful to the crab's host when it feeds on the mucous strings that help carry the food to the host's mouth.[5]

    I’ve never seen those

I suspect they  could not come from the inside of the  oyster because the oyster is shut tight unless it’s bad. If it is bad it smells and looks that way and gets tossed

Randy and Mac, yall are doing a shitty job promoting the idea of eating oysters

it's not even rational because raw oysters may be the most disgusting looking food around but those little crabs are next level

agreed. Can't see the 12z yet, but previous euro runs want to relax the cold +tnh pattern past the 12th. We need deep snowcover now to avoid ugly above freezing days before the reload. 5" won't do it

welcome m'lord, you've come to the right place

Holy shit!  2 days ago we got 30 and for the first time ever as the bf was shucking, we saw those little crabs and freaked out.  They were in like 10 out of the 30

supposed to be edible and even a delicacy but can't do it

Randy - I’ve been around a minute- and I am not a newbie. The euro and ukie have genuinely been disappointing runs up this way - some of that is from whatever falls today and what is left over would again fall short of warning level. If it goes down like that, it is a continuation of a series of misses we’ve had up this way since 2019.

is the zen short for something else?

I've been buying oysters and shucking them at home.   I do Rockefeller and raw.

Initial snow forecast for January 5-6 (late Sunday into Monday). Favoring the cluster of more northern solutions overall, with some mixing issues showing up from D.C. southward (but not before a decent amount of snow). Euro's more southern track is certainly something to keep an eye on. Main concerns are with potential mixing in the southern areas cutting into totals, and sharpening up the northern gradient once there's better confidence in the track.
