Verbatim that’s one of the worst soundings I’ve seen, especially since 4/27/11.

People on my FB feed are reporting power outages in Alabama. Apparently the wind is kicking up so strong it’s causing power outages. Low may be stronger than expected?
Winds are very strong over here, last I read almost 18,000 people without power here in the Atlanta area.

Looks like downtown Helen, Ga has switched over to snow according to their webcam.

A lot of what I thought was rain earlier was mainly sleet, may actually have an inch of that on top of the partially melted snow from earlier. Now it just keeps flipping constantly. At times it’s mainly snow, and then it’ll flip mainly sleet and mix in between the flips. Hoping to flip all snow before the heaviest gets hear in a couple hours. Still can’t get that dry easy wind that everyone else is getting though.
The wind here is amazing....we’re probably getting gusts to 30 mph at this hour. I can tell you we’re honestly probably lucky the wedge isn’t quite as cold and dry as in previous storms because with the amount of qpf along with this wind, that would be one helluva ice storm and probably one for the ages.

I could be wrong but I think this is a result of cooling through precipitation with dew point depressions
That’s it......been cool and rainey before the sun came up today, never had a chance to warm up at all.

CAD has officially arrived here along I-85 near Gainesville, Ga.....winds are really gusting out of the NE 15-20 MPH....temps have fallen another degree to 37.....we’ll see how low they’ll go.

Even down here in Gainesville, Ga the temp has dropped to 37. Dewpoint has fallen a couple of degrees as well. Beginning to see the first signs of CAD here.

Yes. I feel like that Wilkesborodude guy now.
Oh yeah.....that was the sky has to heal guy. Looks like he may get a good storm so I bet he's happy.

I was a bad boy today on the forum.
Did you get scolded for not "brining anything to the table"?

Fairly surprised at the FFC graphic....haven't really chimed in on this storm since it looked to leave us totally out of the game, at least Atlanta proper around the perimeter. The new EURO continues support for freezing rain in the typical CAD areas from Gwinnett/Hall county and points north and east. I'd still like to see what the NAM says by tomorrow afternoon for our area, that should give us a better idea of what the potential is, but if we get a stout NE wind per usual, we usually get down to 31/32 around here. If by some chance the CAD encroaches earlier for the bulk of the precipitation, then NE Georgia up through GSP is going to be in for one serious ice storm.

Satellite presentation looks the best that Florence has looked in a couple of days, Convection is very symmetrical and the eye is not ragged in the least. I wouldn’t be surprised if recon found pressures in the upper 930’s at some point today.

Still can't get over the HRRR.......has the secondary band pivot right over the Atlanta metro and has us in the snow until close to 11 AM on Saturday morning.....just incredible if it pans out this way.

The HRRR still has it snowing in the Atlanta metro until late tomorrow morning, unreal.......is this even possible around here? Amazing

Don't think I would have worded it that way.
Yeah, prob. could've used a different phrase, but let me tell ya, you do have to run 'em off or they'll never leave you alone. They're relentless.

1/6/12 Campbell Pharmacy Apothecary Ball
Nice pic, remember, once you graduate and start practicing, we spend a large chunk of our time beating off oxycodone seekers with a stick! They don't teach that in school but it would be a great skill.

Regardless whether this turns out to be a bust or not, I really surprised at the lack of storm coverage that we’ve seen, one way or another I would’ve figured there would be more going on, tornadic or not.
