Specific to BW, right now they only have 17 trails officially open. I had an expiring comp ticket there last winter which I had use by mid-Dec, went up on a day when they received 18" - had a blast once I was lucky to meet a local who took me around to closed parts of the mountain - which nobody seemed to mind we were skiing btw - but the lift layout was a limiting factor. Someone on another board mentioned that BW seems limited at moment my lack of staff. NH hardcore skiers are going to head to either Cannon or Wildcat anyway. You're living in the winter wonderland at moment...why couldn't every November be like this!

Staffing is an issue up here for everyone - including us! But I don't think that's it. This is pretty standard - people just don't ski much this early. And keep in mind, Cannon and Wildcat attract a very different crowd from Bretton Woods, which tends to be affluent families rather than true hard core skiers. But people have a lot of commitments this time of the year, which I think is a factor, and the resort is not going to waste money opening all the trails when there's 5 people skiing. But hey, for those of us who do ski, it's pretty amazing conditions and never a person in front of you in the lift!

Man, Gene with the 31-inch November.  Not too bad, lol.

That is impressive! We just crossed 36 here, also impressive for November but relatively speaking, not nearly as much! Our forecast just got updated and looks like several more inches in store through thursday.

  3. 9.5" so far today... it's inching its way up to a very good storm! Heavy stuff, good base for the glades. :) Also, this brings me to just about 3 feet for season to date totals. Not bad before December 1st

Geezuz what a Condo collapser on the 6Z Euro. That may take power grids down even in those areas usually immune to such. Blue bomb. Further west in the NGreens would be more powdery. My winner for best snow would be MRG. Alex's area would be my heaviest deepest snow area. Winds are no joke Maine coast and just inland. Combine that with paste and potential is there for a Electrical Eliminator

Still waiting on my generator to be fixed. That would suck!

  5. It's so warm out, hard to believe a big storm is coming. Stayed around 33 all night, pack is down to 8-10", but should be pretty solid once it freezes over again. Good base stuff. As always in this area, tough to know what exactly we'll be getting... have a feeling the back side of the storm will be the best part for us, but we'll see!

It is getting silly now. First thanksgiving I need to shovel the roof off :).  Started the day -5F, still in single digits now.

    Happy Thanksgiving NNE

    one to remember, for sure

No kidding. Happy Thanksgiving! Took a couple of shots today while getting condos ready for check ins. The snow depth is amazing for this time of the year. As is the high of 7.
