If folks are wondering why the storms in #tnwx seem to be more intense than you'd expect with 70/63 T/Td observations at the surface, look no further than the temperatures aloft. -17˚C at 500 hPa and -42 to -45˚C at 300 hPa is very cold aloft for a SE setup.
