As soon as the wind picked up, the temp responded with it. 90 minutes ago my car was encased in frost and now it's 43 degrees.

It's funny, I refer to myself (proudly) as the "Anti-HR guy" in HR because I spent nearly 25 years working in warehousing both here and at my previous job. I think that's allowed me to keep a good pulse/relationship with the people here that truly matter...the ones that get shit done. So many people in HR are clueless about what's really important to the blue collar folks because they never lived in that world. I did. My career changed after I was here, married, raising my family and THEN I decided to go back to school while doing all of that. My HR career only dates back to 2015. I think I strike the perfect balance of holding the line but also being a voice for the people. I honestly love what I do.

Everything warrants a "PREPARE NOW" headline....it's truly nauseating. I've been reading that crap every week from November through March and have been averaging like half of my average seasonal snowfall each year.

Between 7am and 8am my temp went from 32 to 42.

Quite a few of our valley locations saw temperatures well below freezing this morning including Warwick Township (22.7) with a low more than 10 degrees colder than here in East Nantmeal (33.3). We moderate a bit today and especially over the weekend with temperatures reaching well into the 50's. Rain chances increase by tomorrow afternoon with a cold frontal passage, and we turn much chillier again by Sunday night. Temperatures next week look to remain below normal with highs in the 40's and low in the upper 20's for most spots.

I'd definitely take a decent event. I'm assuming thats a 2-4/3-6 kind of deal... but we haven't had many decent December snowfall down here recently

I think at the end of the day, December is a New England month more than anything else, but hopefully I'm wrong. Mid Atlantic could get a decent event mid-month or so.

There is a difference from too dry for much snow back then vs too warm for much snow now. The current 7 year snowfall average is 14.9”in NYC with a winter average temperature of 37.4° and 11.29” precipitation. The 7 year period ending 1932 in NYC featured 16.2” of snow with a winter average temperature of 34.7” and 9.66” of precipitation. So this current run is a function of warming winters and storm tracks vs a cyclical dry pattern back then. NYC was able to follow that low snowfall period with a nice rebound in snowfall the following seasons. But we are much warmer now so it’s less likely we see a 50”+ season and 3 consecutive winters averaging under 32.0°. Plus it’s unlikely we see a Fenruary as cold as 1934 in the coming years. 25 frosty degrees this morning. I hope the rest of the leaves on a few Maple trees come down this morning. There is about 20% of the leave on yet. Then leave season is done.

Looks like SNE starts to moderate and warm up by the end of next week. Probably a shot and more accumulating snows in NNE before that though.

Bad luck back then. Still bad luck today but you also have averages warmer which increases the odds of a shitty record like this being broken.
