December 2025 Short/Medium Range Forecast Thread
Daniel Boone replied to John1122's topic in Tennessee Valley
I agree with you completely . If we go back to many great Winter's, many of them featured that occurrence. "95-96 comes to mind as that happened on more than one Occasion. Not saying we're in for a "great" Winter , although, the possibility does exist. I think if that Mild shot is short and ends abruptly the Odds are pretty good imo. -
The slp associated with this is still off the delmarva, What we've had so far is snow associated with warm air advection.
-
Hearing some pinging out there now at the border of Southern and Northern Worc County.

December 2025 regional war/obs/disco thread

The last half decade has taken a toll on me. Weather, life, etc. I’ll tell you this, my mood is a lot better in the summer when it’s sunny and 90 degrees. Light out until 8, etc. The dark dreary 35 degree rain is for the birds -
I had close to 3" when it let up. Hopefully it'll fill in soon like the HRRR suggests. A few of the meso's were showing this type of whole for several runs yesterday/last night. I had assumed it was just something that would disappear in later runs. I'm holding my hat on the HRRR's depiction of it picking up within the hour.

I see 12z Euro and NAM try to bring in a little light snow late Friday, while the other models are south. Definitely something to keep an eye on, even though it's only a slight chance as you pointed out. A light accumulation in early December would be nice.
-
Yeah but he'll be pissed at the 11.3 just north of him.
-
Freezing line runs from about Waltham down to Wellesley to Needham to Sherborn to Medway to Bellingham....so basically just west of 128 and then gets to 495 down near Bellingham. Still below freezing here at 30.5F.
-
And just like that 50/50 moderate snow sleet in Westfield
-
I still do not see any pattern that supports major I-95 snow through mid december. Nothing will dig with this. You’re looking at light events/sliders. Still favors Great Lakes/Interior the most.

Same here. First snow of the system. A decent light snow. -
You need to get him snow tires!

Hahaha I probably will when we start chasing the next big snow storm. It's hilarious hearing a 4 year old correct other kids on meteorology, be on the lookout for a future James Spann in the coming years

12/3 Snow/Sleet/Mix Bag of Everything Discussion/OBS
Hurricane Agnes replied to Mikeymac5306's topic in Philadelphia Region
Still have light rain with temp and dp up to 37. Have had a good soaking today with 1.06" in the bucket at post time (which could have been upwards of 10" of snow if it were 10:1 ratio ). -
Heaviest snow so far ongoing... eh flizzard is closer to accurate. Currently 30° with 0 radar returns. Incredibly fine flakes, nothing sticking yet
-
I got into a dry slot down here, starting to fill in again now but I can also see the back edge of the precip approaching.
-
Yup, just looked out the window and realized it's a mix of sleet and snow, almost all sleet now. 30.0/29.3. I wonder if this is going to turn into a mess?
-
3" and over to a freezing mix in Simsbury. Very heavy to move the snow around.
