South definitely got more that year. Remember the TX freeze and the snow that came with it?

Here is the final snowfall map for the lake effect / lake enhanced and upslope snowfall event: -
Oh no it wasn't just one. I'd love to look at the year by year for that. Wouldn't those averages be skewed by the mediocre years? And It's been several times in different areas. I can think of at least 6 years of the last 10 where places south got more. NC in Dec 2018, TX in February 2021, Snow in NO last year. 2019 southern MD getting more from that storm, and again last year--snow events in Alabama! Beach blizzard in...2018 I THINK. What I'm saying is the years that haven't been complete ratters, the south seems to be getting more. And you'd think it would happen less but the amounts have been consistently higher south of Baltimore since 2018 aside from years everybody failed.

Starting to suspect I should have gone with greater confidence than low back whence. heh

Downtown SLK! Heres one from 12 miles to your northeast, up the Saranac River, in Franklin Falls (NW slope of Whiteface). Light upslope continues... -
Yeah it left some killer outflow boundaries behind it

Isn't this how Maximum Overdrive started?

The only "sustained" blocking over the last 10 years (sustained being more than a one week transient episode) were January into early Feb 2016, March 2018 and mid Dec to mid Feb 2021. ETA: During the Dec-Mar period

How many of these years had sustained legit Blocking ?

Well that was a quick very cold shot for Nov. -
Just up the road in the DMV, Doug Kammerer also foresees a very cold January.

Are places south of us getting more snow, or did some location south of us simply get one snowstorm at some point that we missed and you got frustrated? Because I am not finding these places south of us getting more snow. A great sign moving forward right around Thanksgiving which could usher in cold air along the East. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

Something LOUD just flew over Colesville area. ADS-B has something but it's not identified. Probably fighter jet(s) - only getting it periodically on MLAT tracking. 340+ knots if the MLAT is accurate.

Is spaceweatherlive the best site for tracking the CME in real time?

Hey Gene…can you vouch for a wildlife rehabilitator in our area? I found a squirrel in my road that was hit, but still alive. The only visible sign of injury is a little blood on a rear foot, but it isn’t really moving anything from the waist down except a slight movement of the other leg a few times. Upper half looks good. I have it in a box in the basement right now. The closest one (Henniker) has some iffy reviews.

Mood flakes yesterday and light snow the past 3 hours around 33F. Still waiting for our first trace. We did have a dusting in shaded areas for about an hour yesterday before sublimation. Does that count?

Great Post man ! I made mention of the possibility Cozgrove could be right about the back being cold but wrong about the front and the possibility exists of a solid cold Winter after you posted what his thoughts were recently. He and I and his Buddy Dave Dierks used chat quite a bit and he is without a doubt an expert in Lr Forecasting Dave's more medium range. Imo, this one has the Chance of being a 95-96 type weak Nina or even a 10-11 . The latter was strong moderate but had strong Blocking. Blocking was the big deal for both. '95-96 was cold all three Months but did have short lived mild periods. '10-11 Cold Dec and January, mild February.

Saw a link on NPR, NOAA site with Aurora info/forecast. Most is over my head, but it shows strong activity continuing in the Northern Hemisphere. Also, I am a sucker for nice visuals... Haha. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ - Today
