Event total since Wednesday is 3.76” now.

I wonder why the heavier rain never shifted south? I've gotten over an inch which is great, but I'm jealous of all the 3-inch-plus amounts. I've never seen more than just light rain, not even moderate. Edit: LWX disco says rain chances Monday and Tuesday should be focused south of I-66 and Rt 50, so maybe that will finally be our turn.
-
I figured everything would move east keeping my overall totals down. 2.75" of very beneficial rain...today looks pretty ok and models have backed off for my area tomorrow so maybe a burger is in my future

What a horrible Memorial Day weekend. It's a double whammy for me as I only get a one day weekend because I have to work today AND tomorrow. So that has me irritated, but the weather truly sucks, too. We can't beg, borrow, or steal snow on Christmas, but we sure can do cold, shitty, wet summer holidays. -
Noticed Killington still making turns on Superstar. Snow depth look pretty stout too.

this is from 6 hours ago but how on earth does that part of lancaster county have no damn rain? this is how inaccurate weather reporting is imo. -
Been pouring for the past 2-3 hours

Looked like your record low was 40 degrees in 2002. 50 degrees this morning and 1.20” yesterday. Radar looks like rain showers today. Up to early…but got a good nights sleep. Plus I was lazy with the rain yesterday. -
Of course not . Next week looks much better once we get past this weekend.
-
Monday looks like the better day but there will still be some showers. Not a weekend for a BBQ
-
oh come on bro you know this weather is not the nicest
-
Also, you don't need a honkin' cut-off at 500 to do it in May, at least not directly over New England, nor do you need a strong sfc low. May 18, 2002. This produced what is perhaps the latest accumulating snowfall in ern MA on record. I had .2" in Woburn and this was during the day. You know how hard it is do that this late w/ that sun angle (it still is "felt" though a dense OVC). Also, note it was generally above 540 thk where it snowed. 540 usually does not work so well this late in the season. ALB had 2.2" and max amount was 8" at Prattsvile NY. Weenie snowfall report from this day on this group? I'd like to see them. Omega block once again, but its horizontal axis was not as far S as 1967 and 1977. Of note, 4 days before, CAR had 2.7" for its latest measurable snow on record.
-
What makes it so unusual?
-
Given the amp'ed pattern and omega block, why not? As I noted earlier, "this is how do you it" this time of year. Look at May 9-10, 1977. Omega block just the same. And it does not have to be as amp'ed to do it either. Enter May 25-26, 1967. Same pattern, yet not as weenie Xtreme. MA/NH summaries for the storm attached. If this occurred today? CoastalWx would give new meaning to his line "VIOLENTLY BEAUTIFUL!"
-
Got 2.65" of rain this morning. Now at 8.63" for the month, currently the 3rd wettest May on record. The record is 9.05" in May 1995. With some more rain on the way through the upcoming week, might as well just go for broke. Top 5 Wettest Mays (DAY): 1. 9.05" - 1995 2. 9.01" - 1938 3. 8.63" - 2026 (as of 5/23) 4. 8.55" - 1989 5. 8.40" - 1990

0.98" here since Friday afternoon, and 2.0" total since Tuesday. Definitely an improvement, and spread out nicely as well. 51°F currently. -
HRRR and NAM bring 1-2” of rain to my backyard Sunday morning. Would be much appreciated if it happens.
-
Even for Sunday afternoon it appears that the rain will have moved to the east, something I talked about for days. Cloudy and cool but it should be ok to cook outside tomorrow. And Monday afternoon looks ok -- I don't know what Anthony is looking at if he thinks it's going to rain all day.

Not with kids in rec leagues or other activities! This weather in late May, during Memorial Day weekend, is just absolute trash and depression inducing.
