That’s all I’ve ever wanted, a Christmas Eve storm right out of “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Snow starts around 3-4pm in the afternoon, rips fatties all night long and winds down Christmas morning just as I’m opening up what Santa left me. Sigh! I’m resigned to the fact it will probably never happen as long as I’m living in southeast PA. Hence my plans to retire to a colder climate.

At UVA we’ve been in a nice band since 5:30 and added on maybe 1/2 an inch or more of fluffy snow to the 2 inches I measured at 4:30

Classic sigline.

that's probably a hot take, but not a baseless one. glacier is super cool, and i'd take a messy 6" of snow, 0.5" frzr, 3" of sleet as a close second to a 12" snowstorm.

This would be an amazing Christmas gift -
A foot of ice is on my bucket list. I'd take a 12" ice storm over a 12" snow storm but that's just me

I think it’s a good call. Roads are going to be awful with black ice. No drying and most of the county is already below freezing. Cancelling today was easily a dumb decision -

Remember it all too well. Our refrigerator went out on December 23rd. It was cold enough outside that we just put most of our perishables outside in a cooler. That night (technically early Christmas Eve morning) our daughter just happened to go downstairs to get something and came running back up the stairs saying water was coming out of our chandelier. Luckily I was able to break the ice and turn off the water to the house. It all worked out but I can’t imagine what we’d have woken up to the next morning if she hadn’t gone back downstairs. -
CONGRATS on the snow! Pics look excellent!

Don’t care when it happens but I hope the pattern does relax some and reloads. But watch the time period of when/if this occurs because that could offer up a KU chance. As to what happens after the re-load…who knows but apply some tweaks to this pattern and we could be in for some times in January -
Wasn't gonna say that earlier so as not to deb...but that was my concern to that they would split the difference and cannibalize each other, lol

You can tell we’re below freezing now, there’s a crunch when you walk on grass. Steady light snow, 31.8 most surfaces covered besides streets and tall grass. Has met expectations -

Already down to 12°. Should be a brisk morning. -
Steady light snow again in Charlottesville the past ~45 mins, bordering on moderate now. Best looking flakes we've had all day imo. DP popped back up to 21 after bottoming out at 14 around 4:30. 25/21

The WI and MI crew should thread up that Tues/Wed clipper. It’s worthy, I’d say.
