That one was an easy A in my book. I loved seeing the transformation from a near record cold and snowy February to a near record warm May.

Good question....Prior to the epic stretch the grade was an F...after the epic stretch which includes the cold in March it was an A.....I long ago read about the epic stretch in 1717 and one of my weather bucket list items was to experience a repeat of 1717...and I sure did!...that raised the grade to an A...just below 95-96...A+ grade...

Models have been puking out 20-30 inch numbers inside 120 hrs all winter only to cave at the last minute to 2 to 3 and we've come to expect it. Watch this one be the models "I'll show you" moment lmao.

In all seriousness, I would have to consider a crappy March… But around these parts I can’t really argue with two very large snow storms. That itself almost argues an A.

What was your grade for 14-15?

Highs for the day at IAD and DCA are 76-77. Any accumulating snow would be impressive. That fact that it is very likely going to snow for a few hours, even without accumulation, is also impressive. In my view, that’s the proper benchmark

Why would this week specifically drop a grade? It’s March, things melt. Deal with it. If you want to at the end of the month, say we had no snow in the grade drops then I could reason with that.

I mean if you’re going to flip a switch from cold and snowy to legit spring/summer mid March is the time to do it. I don’t understand how you can lower a winter grade a whole letter for these last 5 days when we’re approaching the 18th hole. But to each their own.

...obviously my grade heading into this week took into consideration the thaw in january...
