In retrospect. A good 1-2” event. Looks like mid winter on December 2.

Was just out to grab a sandwich for lunch…had to put truck into 4 auto…slippery for sure with slush covered roads here. Snow/skeet /freezing rain mix…temp in truck said 29, and didn’t budge. And That’s usually a degree or two warm more often than not. Cold is hanging tough. Wintry appeal for sure.

Somebody on a TEAMS call I am on reported "close to a foot" in Perry county. I can't believe that's true.

Hmmm, I think what some schools did was have a two-hour delay in place but then decide to close after kids were already there or on their way. In my mind, this is the dumbest possible move. If it's too late to upgrade the delay to a closing then just keep them there for a whole day and let things clear up even more. Why would you send them home almost immediately when things are still questionable. Whatever haha.

3 systems to watch on the GFS for next week: Monday: coastal low brings heavy snow to VA (miss south of us for now) Wednesday: clipper tracks north of PA and brings many of us rain Friday: wave runs just south of us and brings snow to almost all of the southern half of PA

Can’t say I’m disappointed for a change as I’m at 35k feet with another 4.5 hours before touchdown at jfk. House is gonna be pretty chilly when we get in but I wisely laid a fire before we left. I do love me some snow but the wife would be having a meltdown if we had to land into it and then drive home through it.

That was my experience as well. But, now that I've moved to NW VT, flash freezes seem to be a real thing again. Maybe its the strong low level surge created by channeling as winds shift to the NW post fropa, especially on backdoors.

Oh, maybe they did close? My wife texted me that it was snowing while kids were getting on the bus. It might have been a bus for a private school.
