  3. 13-14 and 14-15 are probably the closest we're going to get to a wall-to-wall cold winter in this climate. Both years had 4 out of 5 months well below average (November and January-March).
  4. Were you here in 1994? An ice weenie’s dream come true. That was fun as a kid, but I don’t think I wanna go through that as a homeowner lol
  5. Well, although the radar returns have decreased in last hour plus, I still have a decent light snow falling . Cleared the board for 7 pm reading, 1.8 inches. Adding the 0.5 at 7 am, the 2.8 at 1 pm and the 1.8 at 7 pm gives me a 5.1 inch event total, 0.5 for yesterday and 4.6 for today. There are 4.5 inches on the ground. A bit of an overachiever, forecast was 2-4 inches. Temp continues to drop, now 23.2/21.8.
  6. Even in this cold, The tropical trees are in there happy place and have been flowering non stop.
  7. Even under zero radar returns we’re still getting some and it has officially graduated to “mulch dusting” as well. .
  8. 33F, coating of slush on the deck, put some salt down. Wake County Schools down for a second day (what should have been their first... or even a 2 hour delay).
  9. Light snow here in Newton kind of a pixie dust look.
  10. And it’s on Christmas Eve Eve! Might break the Amwx
  11. Measured 4" in Blowing Rock when I left. Right at 3" here at the house in Foscoe. Just north of Boone around Todd seems to have been the sweet spot. Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro using Tapatalk
  12. Wth is wrong with you two??? A FOOT of ice???
  13. I picked up my dog from day care last week, usually when they open the door she runs to me, last week she got halfway to me and turned around and ran back inside when the arctic wind hit her in the face.
  14. Nice band going thru HR right now. Beautiful evening.
  15. Prob 1/2" here in Franklinton with flurries and still some periods of -sn
  16. Nice coating in Woodlawn/North Cove. Melted quickly though. Some flakes at my house too but its over now. 2 hr delay for schools because the roads are soaked and will be bad.
  17. At least the ensembles are still showing that better pattern toward Xmas. 18z today vs 24 hours ago Scandi ridging retrograding as we get closer has been a theme so far this month. Also hard to torch really hard across northern tier when you have a strongly -WPO like we’ve seen.
  18. That’s all I’ve ever wanted, a Christmas Eve storm right out of “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Snow starts around 3-4pm in the afternoon, rips fatties all night long and winds down Christmas morning just as I’m opening up what Santa left me. Sigh! I’m resigned to the fact it will probably never happen as long as I’m living in southeast PA. Hence my plans to retire to a colder climate.
