I had a trace on Tuesday November 30th....6SM and -RASN....stebo had numerous obs yesterday with -SN....and have had a trace today.

KDTW 022153Z 23008KT 7SM -SN OVC032 M02/M06 A3012 RMK AO2 SNB10 SLP209 P0000 T10171056 $

Light snow has been reported almost every hour the past 2 days, but just enough to lightly dust the ground. DTW got 0.1 yesterday and 0.2 today, the blowy/drifty type of fluff that likes to drift against the curbs and stuff. Its actually funny, like Ajdos says, its been snowing almost nonstop the past 2 days...but with just a few tenths.

BTW, I think Chicagowx updates this thread once a week.

Yeah I just figured whenever I work if I have any snow I would post it so he could get to it whenever he did....that way I didn't forget to mention it....believe stebo does the same.

Oh, I know, was just saying. Actually I cant wait til you/stebo are working during a real snowstorm. It will be cool to see you guys post metars of some serious snow :) AND it will be nice to look back on this thread on one of those hot days in summer '11 :)

Pearson is a joke. I'm going to send off another e-mail today to the climo dept at Environment Canada but it likely won't accomplish much. They recorded 0.7" for yesterday  Not only is the amount ridiculously low, they measured 0.06 liquid. 12:1 ratio? Driving home yesterday I saw two people using leaf blowers to blow 4" plus worth of fluff off their driveways. During a similar LES event last week, they recorded an even 10:1 ratio. Just unbelievable.

Yeah I saw that. Hopefully the downtown amount will be better. At least two inches fell yesterday.

But on the flip side, Pearson will probably have the highest total when the next rain/wet snowstorm mixture hits. LOL.

lol, yeah. Too bad it seems a lot more of our snow is in the form of powder/fluff rather than cement mixer snow, otherwise Pearson would lead the world in annual accumulations.

It's gotten to the point where I'm just ignoring Pearson's data.

post-257-0-30110400-1292470959.jpg

Four main Toronto climo observation locations. Amounts in cm. Pearson came in with the lowest seasonal snowfall in 8 of the 16 years (50%). It also averaged the lowest seasonal snowfall total during the period. There's no reason that Pearson, being removed from the urban heat-island effect, and the moderating effects of Lk Ontario, should receive so much less snow than EC HQ and Buttonville. The slight decrease in latitude might account for some of a very small difference, but not 15-45cm worth.

KDTX had a trace of snow for Thursday December 16th and Friday December 17th. Trace for Thursday and I would "guess" 0.1 for today based on the vis today.

MPX - Twin Cities

Minneapolis MN (MSP): 30.4" (+19.8")

St. Cloud MN (STC): 11.7" (-1.5")

Per climate data and the nws website, the 30.4" number is incorrect and should be 34"

After the latest clipper Chanhassen is up to 40.9" and Rochester is up to 33". The MSP airport didn't add a significant amount with only a trace recorded.

The official report for where I live is 15 on the ground. So far it has been nothing to write home about. We are suppose to get maybe 6 more this weekend, but the coming week is going to be pretty quiet. Hopefully we don't get that annual after Christmas thaw. Hopefully things will ramp up in January. I hope it doesn't turn out like last year where winter just ran out of steam in January, and we received very little snow form January on.
