The surfaces here aren't even wet so I don't think the ground temperature has anything to do with it.

It's wet here. Been wet for the 6 hrs of on and off snow we've had. Ground temps absolutely have something to do with it. If the soil temp is 35-40 it will radiate that heat.

I took a ground temp measurement today with my equipment I use for my cold frame this afternoon and got 36.5f.

Yeah, took a look and changed my post based on soil temp maps. Still, it will radiate and with enemic rates it is tough to accumulate

Plus, I still have an air temp of 34.3
