Posting in any forum on this Board amounts to a consent to abide by the forum rules as currently written and as amended from time to time. Notwithstanding any provision of the Board or member rules to the contrary, each member at American Weather (to be hereafter reffered to as Americanwx), on behalf of himself/herself, his/her heirs and assigns, hereby waives any and all claims against the Americanwx, its staff, administrators, agents, servants, employees, owners, successors, personal representatives and assigns, both at law or in equity, for libel, slander, defamation, negligence, personal injury and/or damages of any kind, including compensatory and punitive damages.
Weather Forum Warn procedures: 1-2-3 RULE
Standard Mode:
FIRST OFFENSE (1 point): A verbal warning.
SECOND OFFENSE: (2 points): 5 day suspension of posting abilities.
THIRD OFFENSE: (3 points): Permanent suspension of posting abilities.
Storm Mode:
If this will be the member's FIRST warning point, a 5 day suspension of posting abilities will be incurred.
If this will be the member's SECOND warning point, a 10 day suspension of posting abilities will be incurred.
If this will be the member's THIRD warning point, Permanent suspension of posting abilities.
Off Topic Forums
Action for violating rules in the OT forums will be enforced by administrators at their discretion on a case-by-case basis but will still conform to the 1-2-3 Rule as described above.

Posts of a political or activist nature are not allowed outside of the all politics sub-forum located in our off topic forum. It is strictly forbidden to use political or activist images or text in avatars, signature lines or anywhere else that would be viewable outside the all politics sub-forum. DONATIONS Our forum is almost entirely donation driven to keep things up and running. We accept donations from members during annual donation drives or individually. Please keep in mind that, by making a donation to the forum, this does not give you privileges above other members of the forum. If you violate any of the forums rules your account can be terminated or suspended at any time, at which time you forfeit the rights to use the forum until further notice. The staff are not responsible for any monetary loses that you might incur including but not limited to any donations that you have made. Your donations will be transparent. In the Forum help subforum, you can see, at any time, a full accounting of how much we received in donations and to which expenditures these donations were spent toward.
MODEL THREAD RULES
Threads discussing specific model runs (i.e., 00z NAM) are only to be used for discussing the current model run. Posts which deviate off-topic may be deleted, and multiple offenses will be dealt with either through a warning (see below) or 24 hour suspension of posting abilities. Our goal is to maintain a good flow of information and to see discussion from everyone in the model threads, but this does not mean there should be "how much for..." posts in these threads. If you want to discuss something outside the realm of the model, please feel free to start a new topic.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: REPORTING POSTS
The Americanwx.com staff is consistently on the lookout for posts which violate the board rules, but we only have so many eyes. At the bottom left portion of each post there is a button titled "Report". Please feel free to report objectionable posts as often as necessary. The staff members will be notified of problems, and the issue will be resolved. In some cases a reported post may remain because a staff member does not deem it to be inappropriate.
- No porn or links to porn
- No threats of physical violence through postings or PMs
- No racist/sexist/ethnic/homophobic slurs
- No using PM system for personal gain/spam
- No advertising without prior admin approval
- Multiple accounts will get you banned
- Do not post threads asking why another member was warned/banned
- No political sigs, avatars or member titles
- No excessive trolling of other members
Weather Forum Rules

- Try to stay on topic
- Attack the idea, not the poster
- Spell out your forecast/thinking/opposing viewpoint clearly
