  1. @GaWxThanks for all your insightful posts this winter, despite our lack of real winter weather around here lately your efforts are always helpful and give context. If anyone on here deserves to get a load of snow it is you.
  2. Looks like I might need to plan another trip up to Beech next week .
  3. Heading up there this morning, hoping to see a a couple of inches fall today and early tomorrow.
  4. Thanks Met, think I'm going to wait until the morning before pulling the trigger. While I think Beech will get snow I want to be sure it is still looking good for them to get a decent thump.
  5. What do you think guys, is it worth heading up to beech mountain tomorrow through Tuesday? Thinking about taking the kid up to see some snow if it will be decent
  6. Is the NWSF going to be mostly during the day tomorrow or into tomorrow night/Saturday? Thinking about making a trip up to Beech but wouldn't be able to get there until after work tomorrow.
  7. Iredell Co schools are closing for tomorrow’s rain/wind storm. .
  8. The good news, as that is much needed, is that the snowpack will be building to our north, We need a significant snow pack in the midwest and northern tier if we want significant cold to reach here later this month and early Feb. I'm keeping an eye out one how that major cold dump out west gets handled and if the models start showing it oozing east after the first dump mid next week. Our time is typically mid January to mid Feb anyway
  9. 14 Years for me! I was around for a year or two at Eastern WX as well but I rarely post anymore, just lurk
  10. The time around next weekend to first part of Feb holds the best change for a significant winter storm IMO as the current pattern we are in starts to break down. You can typically count a big storm somewhere as patterns break down and readjust.
  11. Didn't realize you moved over this way. Didn't you live over the Afton area of Concord for a while?
  12. Yep, us on the western edge will be watching that precip field very closely in hopes of even the slightest westward expansion.
  13. All sleet here now. I’d say about an inch of snow on the ground.
