I got in on that quick fall off in rainfall from JFK east, but it was better than nothing.

You could see the outflow and redevelopment stalling just to the west of Nassau

with the training cells on Sunday. This was just a bit more of an extreme version of

what can be a typical rainfall pattern here. But it least for the LI crew this wasn't

snow. ;)

Not to beat a dead horse but i had feeling last nights rains where not going to work out. Uptons map with wide spread almost 2" amounts was way off.

The good news moving forward is the soil moisture in sorrounding areas is now high. This increases chances of convection. And occasionally it does workout for us. You just have to go back to the islip mega event

My statement about a cool, wet Summer was because of two reasons. First, there is correlation between above average warm, anomalously dry May's and the rest of the Summer. This has been discussed some in the May and June discussions. And secondly, because it's fun to troll Warlock :P

While it's hard to predict the pattern weeks and weeks in advance, the ensembles are certainly pointing towards a wetter next few weeks at least.

CPC is interestingly going above normal precip and above normal temps, two that don't often mix.

High of 51F so far today in Dobbs Ferry with steady rain falling. NWS had a forecast maximum of 56F, but doubt we make it there given the intensity of the rain has been higher than expected. Today's high will be 25F below average...the low was 48F this morning, which is around 10 degrees below average.

Radar shows a solid area of moderate rain stretching from south-central PA (around Harrisburg) all the way into northwest CT. Can't see how we don't pick up at least another inch of rain. Really incredible storm and temperature regime for June.

4 times more then 7 miles to you're east. We have been having steady light rain all afternoon in Manhattan. The type of rain that plants truly love. Expect the city to start looking like Dublin in a few days

Yeah we got it from the storms on sunday that set up over us and from last nights rainfall. And yeah it will look nice after of these last 3 days.
