I haven't really watched TWC in years because it's become more about all of their shows and less about weather. Well, I turned on AccuWeather today to check it out. It has one very big flaw for me. It doesn't give you local weather like TWC does. At least the TWC SD channel does anyway. TWC gives you local weather at the bottom while the meteorologists report the national weather. AccuWeather just scrolls through national weather forecasts while the on air meteorologists also give national weather. Not crazy about that. They also took away TWC's Weatherscan channel which I did like. Now, the channel has nothing but an advertisement for The Weatherbug widget. I gravitated away from TWC, many years back, but very much enjoyed the broadcasts during major events...and really didn't like the fluff that was on all the time...for the most part.....so I probably won't "miss" it that much....that said...I despise what Verizon did...I sign a contract and they feel arrogant enough to just change programming as they see fit....they "claim" that people get their weather info from other sources, and that essentially "TWC has become less relevant"....yet they fill the spot with another "weather channel"....WHAT??? They think we are stupid!! Just say..."we won't make as much money carrying the weather channel as we would if we carry accuweather.."....I may change providers if Verizon keeps up with their arrogance...
