Definitely a much more interesting and surprising storm than what I expected. That's the reason why I love weather so much...you never know what kind of surprises will be thrown into ordinary events. I think this "nor'easter" had a much bigger impact on our area than what many (including the media) anticipated if you ask me.

The banding definitely weakened as it approached and passed NYC to the west.....well, more like shrunk like it usually does at the end of a storm. It'll probably consolidate and strengthen over western NJ before it rains itself out. I always love the look of a radar like it is now from eastern Long Island north to Boston.....dozens of "little poppers" coming NW

Statement as of 4:51 am EDT on October 23, 2014

* locations... coastal locations bordering western Long Island

Sound from western Suffolk to Westchester counties in New York

and Fairfield County Connecticut.

* Tidal departures... 1 to 1 1/4 ft.

* Timing... around the time of high tide this morning.

* Impacts... water levels will touch minor coastal flood thresholds

during the times of high tide... particularly along the most

vulnerable Back Bay locations. This will result in brief

inundation of these most vulnerable shore roads and adjacent

properties.
