myrtle beach tornado

That was a fascinating event. A storm developed along a southward moving backdoor cold front. The storm then interacted with a strong sea breeze that day and quickly took on supercell characteristics and eventually the tornado. Strange thing was, the storm/tornado was moving from northeast to southwest right down the beach. This "backwards" movement led to the tornado arriving well before the rain/hail associated with the parent storm itself. That ended up catching a lot of people off guard.  If you're familiar with the area, the first touchdown was around 48th Ave north and then it really intensifed as it moved south past the old Pavilion. The tornado finally dissapated near the end of the MYR airport (what is today's Market Common).

Sad, but true! About 10 years after they were cool!

My favorite shirt went something like this:

Big Johnson's Bar and Casino:liquor up front, poker in the rear! :)

No way! That's exactly the one I was thinking of when I read your initial comment! There was one about mud tires that I thought was funny but I can't remember how it goes.
