only a few days from august at this point. Summer goes by quick, for some not quick enough, others, too quick.

One of my selfish reasons for starting this thread is i have a vacation question. I will be heading to acadia national park/ Bar Harbor area in maine. I will be up there next week. could anyone give me an idea of what the weather may look like for that time frame? TIA

It goes by too quick. 6 months of summer followed by 6 months of winter in a perfect world.

With the persistent troughing coming down from Canada, wouldn't be surprised if we have a tropical system passing close by in August.

We need a storm though-looks pretty dead out there

First week or so looks warm, humid and at times wet. Them all eyes turn to Bertha and will it run east coast?

Well if it's humid , it's warm and AN. Kind of pattern that is like 75-80 with dews 65-70 much of the time.. And days with rain say 71/70

We never have days in the 70s and dews near 70 with sun. Maybe a day or two tries next week to get warm and humid..but I don't see a warm and humid 1st week.

As models sense Bertha growing , ridge will pump and WAR will flex west. After rains this weekend and warm front pushes west of us. It's evolving as models resolve pattern with Bertha

Bertha will be meh and not have a big impact though. Models already correcting WAR further east.

Low to mid 70's during the day with some showers a day or two, Cool nights low mid 50's, Water temps are right around 60F, Bring everything you have, Warm clothes, Cool clothes, Rain gear etc, etc, Make sure you make a trip up Mt Cadillac and visit Thunder hole, It the tide is ripping all the better at Thunder Hole

Well warm is a relative term this time of year...it's always "warm" out. You mean above normal temps the first week?

You know what's going to happen is the moment you flip your posting style and internal switch to "cold" this fall, then the torch will come with record heat. Then you'll get your +20 departures.

That's my worst fear...a ridge sets up 12/1 and stays the whole winter...11-12 style.

Same old song and dance through mid August on the ensembles. Ridge west, trough east.

I'm not seeing any particular reason to break persistence, no... Beginning to believe we'll need to turn the roulette wheel during seasonal migration S of colder heights before we find a new paradigm.

Not saying it won't get hot from time to time, but the theme for this summer is not a hot summer, period.  Regardless of the modest positive bias accruing -- which is an interesting way to run an above normal summer.  This one just doesn't carry the appeal of the heated times of recent years.
