Carolina folks,
I just read about a fast food chain with which I had not been familiar, "Cook-Out", until just now. I was told that lots of NC folks, especially, love it. Any opinions? I did some quick research and see that one has just opened in east Atlanta and that another is scheduled to open near GA Tech in August. I also heard that Athens/Augusta/Statesboro, GA, very recently have gotten it. Furthermore, there's apparently plans for two in the Savannah area!

Opinions about Cook-Out?

Yeah I can only say good things about Cook-Out and their shakes are awesome beyond belief....and the price is hard to beat as well. I eat there once a week at least.

The shakes are awesome! The food , in my opinion, is nothing remarkable. Their burgers taste like Burger King , flame broiled? Their schtick that's a little different is when you get a combo, you can get chicken nuggets or strips or cheese sticks and such as a side! So you could get a double cheeseburger meal with cheese sticks, or chicken nuggets. They also had cheerwine as a drink on tap, which is very unusual to find , but very tasty! Give it a try!

The food sucks, but the shakes are awesome!  I always go with the Chocolate Cherry malt.  My wife prefers the Oreo Mint shake.  They have an outrageously large number of possible shake combinations.  Go for the shakes.  Ignore the food.

Yeah, there is one within driving distance of MBY. Very popular in NC. Food is not all that bad and the shakes are very good.

Looks like there could be a lot of action in the midwest today. I figured if nothing is happening here we could discuss the severe stuff elsewhere. Threat might be here Thursday, too. I hope the storms miss my nexk of the woods today and Thursday, though. My son has t-ball and I don't want him to have to make up a bunch of games. One reason I wish they started the season earlier to miss out on the summer storms in the evening.

Big bold headline on Yahoo News...

Plains, Midwest brace for 'land hurricane'

People in at least six states from the Plains to the Midwest are bracing for dangerous storms that forecasters say could produce hurricane-force winds, very large hail and a few "intense" tornadoes beginning late Tuesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., the severe weather outbreak is expected to stretch from southern South Dakota through Nebraska, Kansas, southern Iowa, northern Missouri and west-central Illinois.

Forecasters predict that damaging winds — 60-80 mph in some places — and large hail will be widespread.

"It's called a 'land hurricane,' and one could develop tonight across the Plains," CBS Chicago's Megan Glaros tweeted.

Finished up Church League softball. We were down 14-1 going into the bottom of the 6th. We closed to 14-9 by the inning and held them in the top of the 7th. We then got to within 1 run with runners on 2nd and 3rd before we flied out to left... :( At least we kept fighting and almost came back to win it!! Proud of the fellas out there.

Our league is still going on (4 games to go) because of rain-out make-ups.  There was one shower that moved across Wake Co. last night, and of course, the timing was perfect and rained out the game.  Not one drop fell at my house, mind you.  Anyway, we're still perfect on the season.  0-12...or something like that.

Had a shower last night right before my son's t-ball game but it stopped and the sun cam eout again and they were able to play.

Today is my 9th wedding anniversary. The family and I are going to have a picnic tonight at the park.

Good job Brick! That was a good post and congrats on the anniversary ! I will be celebrating 15 years of wedded bliss in October ! :)
