Models moved the high pressure From Ontario to Kansas. Doh!!

Good news with this system on the euro is the low cuts off in the Central Atlantic, and  NAO ridge builds to the north of it. Pretty cool day 10 setup on the Euro if it verifies.

Not like it matters anymore, but this "pretend" storm's setup looked very similar to Nov 6-7 1953. Especially if you look at the old GFS/EURO runs, pretty interesting.

You guys and gals on the east coast, a -PNA is not a death wish, it depends on how far west the mean trough is throughout the winter season.  Just because we have a -PNA doesn't mean the trough is over land, it could be over the waters of the eastern Pacific.  I know there is a east and west based NAO, I think it may be time for someone to introduce a west and east based PNA.

nothing is a death wish, but the result is always the same.  In the end none of us get a boner over a pretty 500mb pattern, when the ground truth is no snow...when it is 36 and rain, I don't care if the AO is -3

After the chilly spring and a relatively mild summer (which I tracked while I was down in south central Texas from June 4 thru Oct 25), I just knew we were in for an interesting fall and winter.

This is going to be a memorable winter. :)

I got my shovels oiled up and ready to go, just in case.

BRING IT ON!!!

Did it take 12 hours for your modem to upload this post to the server? We "gave up" on this one long ago...

I should try to troll every now and then.  I am apparently very good at doing accidentally.

I was merely stating a fact after skimming the last page or two.  I guess the posts were not as recent as I though they were (or maybe they were, idc enough to go back and look).  In any case, enjoy the flurries and snow showers.

NAM simulated radar clips DC with a band snow-showers.  For early November that's fun!

This perhaps mega front is aligning almost west to east and dropping south.  Historically when I have seen that there is a tendancy for the mountains to not scrubb so much of the moisure off as the moisture is dropping south out of south-central PA.

The NAM and WRF are pretty set on a little period of snow in the morning.

Are there still people thinking that this is going to happen? I don't watch the news but my neighbor asked me if we were really in for a good snow storm. I told him no.

Absolutely. That's why we have a separate thread for it.

This is why we should not have a separate thread until 3 days out. Of, course we always do it anyway.

I'm pumped.

It had better snow before 11 tonight or after 6:30 tomorrow or I'll not be witnessing it.

I'm on .1" fringe on the wrf snow map. Sorry Winwxluvr. You get zilcho.

Wes looks to get hammered though. We should check on him tomorrow morning and make sure he's ok.

Everyone always says not to and then somebody who either hasn't read the "don't do it" posts or doesn't care does it anyway.

We got the wind, but not the imaginary snow.

Forget heat, this area truly excels at wind.
