actually strong signals of atleast normal rains for most of GA, and the Carolinas in June. Despite northwest flow to start. MCC's will start the rain train. Hopefully central areas of NC down to central GA cashes in at some point.I'm going to start this months thread in hopes it will give me some rainfall karma.

It's almost June so I'll put it in here, but this has been the longest stretch of adequate rainfall I've seen in a long time. Currently pouring at the homestead.

0.64" last night... more incoming...

Picked up a nice 0.68 last night. Perfect combo of at first pretty heavy rain, then several hours of good soaking rain. Good thing this actually developed since there isn't crap on radar after the forecast yesterday was for "morning storms" and was supposed to be the "main event". Chances are the carolinas will benefit the most of course if/when things re-develop.
Things are finally green again and although amounts haven't been spectacular and "run of the mill" the last several times, it sure as hell beats not getting anything like I've been getting the last 3 or more months.

I got another quarter inch last night. Now, I know that isn't much to most of you, but to me it is a downpour
Add in the .9 I already had this week, and it is like a flood here. I saw blue tailed skinks diving into a puddle when I got up, and mocking birds wearing bikini's cheering them on....of course, I'm not at my best in the morning, and I had forgotten my glasses.... T

Three fairly strong storms are training very slightly to my west. In fact I am getting a small amount of rain at the moment from the first one. Hoping the second and third will slip just a bit east and hit me dead on. As I was posting they have just been warned.

The first one has slid on by. I got a staggering .01.
Second one wide west.

Had maybe 10 minutes of driving rain then a little more light rain after that. Came and went pretty quickly...
Hopefully the drier air comes in soon and we have a cooler evening. Might have to break out a hoodie tonight if FFC is calling for 53 here!

.15" of rain collected in my bucket to begin June. .35" more has fallen this afternoon as the lame-duck squall line raced through. Now, overcast skies are giving way to partly sunny skies and the rain is over for Northeast TN.

49.2 IMBY here in Dahlonega. Gonna have to do some digging to find out the last time we got into the 40s in June.

A breath of fresh air! Nice and cool this morning. Had a low this morning of 44 degrees! Had to put another blanket on the bed. I think we make it into the 30s tomorrow morning. Maybe a record low. Had about an inch and a half of rain from this storm.

What a refreshing morning! 61, headed to 78, maybe. Ended up with 'just' .20" total for yesterday.

Just delightful night and morning. 45 at 7 A.M. Felt like autumn. Photo is at the lake at 8 a.m. Only received .5 from this latest event, but you wouldn't know it from the green everywhere. Corn is already four feet high. Looking forward to tonight and the great moon. Maybe some frost on Mt. Mitchell????

Got down to 52 this morning...brrrr lol. Can't complain since it could easily be in the 90s.
Still cool even at this hour with a light to moderate breeze now, even though the temp has gone up to 65. I guess I have gotten used to the hot weather.

Temperatures fell to around 37 degrees along the ridgelines in Avery County this morning.
Very nice for June!

Definitely not a June-like day today. High of 75 but felt cooler than it actually should be. Absolutely perfect weather for just about anything! Now if only it could be like this the entire summer...

Mr. Burns, if you are responsible for todays weather, then I hope you start all summer threads!!! This was about as perfect a June day as I could ask for. Well, maybe 10 degrees cooler, and a bit less humid, but then that would be fall, and I couldn't get away with that

Low of 52 here last night, the forecast has Tues-Fri with highs in the 70's not to bad for June, the average high is already 84/85 so it will be a below normal week.

Back in the 40s this morning! 49.3, to be exact.

Any SE storm chasers this season? I'm interested in tagging along/helping out any way I can if anyone is trying to make some plans...I've never chased and need to start somewhere....would like to actively chase by next summer, as I'll have some good money to throw into it by then (for equipment, rentals, etc.)

You talking chasing all over the SE or just the Carolinas etc? Tthere are several of us that chase locally and all have at least one tornado intercept under our belts but its hard to do around here. My advice is start locally if you got radar on your phone and try to run down some storms and just get use to the roads and stuff around the coutryside. Go out and chase all the pop up crap we get this summer you will prolly even luck out and get some hail cores/DB etc. There are usually 3-4 really good storm days every June/July especially when a front hangs up and washes out over NC, the summertime stuff here can get pretty severe but its usually spur of the moment type chasing.
