Been above 50° for 6 consecutive day here! Amazing for Mid to late March. With the way temperatures are going tonight, probably dip below 50° by morning.

NAM would suggest frost possible in extreme northern IL Monday morning.

That is the NAM at 69 HR, just crazy to see those temps with a northerly flow on the east side of it.

Its entertaining watching these models fumble with next week. GFS is cool and the ECMWF is trending mild. Gotta love backdoor fronts in Spring!

This morning is a reality check! 49°, a NE wind and light rain!
...my forecast for Monday and Tuesday morning have been trending cooler. Now lows in the upper 30s showing up.

didn't feel that bad out here, looking forward to some pop up action later. Still no seeing a freeze on the horizon, especially for the favorable UHI and lakeside areas.

ORD is sitting at 54.3 (+18.1) for the month.
This would be the 5th warmest April on record.

No freeze in the cards here, but definitely closer to reality. Time to start chipping away at those +16F temp avgs...
Today feels like spring...59F...clouds...some rain
One thing LSE hasn't received is much rain... just very light showers when it does fall. Could use a good drencher.

Indeed...and the continued above average (but cooler) temps should help the departures stay fairly high.Chicago-

New euro weeklies keep warmth around for us through end of period. Cold is gone.
Maybe no more frosts for a lot of us.

Nice to have one of these cool and nice soaking rain days after all the sun. Grass is almost at summer lushness but needs to thicken in just a little pinch yet. Next weeks mix of mild temps and cool backdoors will do the trick.
Got my worm box all set up just have to hope the crawlers are popping out tonight like weenies on prom night.
