It's only the first day of March and it already feels like late Spring around here. Going to take good advantage of it today by getting in on a nice long bike ride around town. With the addition of the occasional breeze, it almost feels like as if you're at the beach. To me this is perfect weather for just about anything. :)

It is a beautiful day. Days like this makes me forget about the crappy winter we have had.

This is the kind of weather I love.

Unless it snows.

Anyone else starting to see the leaves come out? It's finally starting to get a bit green in the southern Piedmont. It looks like the pollen is bearable this year :)

And to think, we're already having these severe threats and March is beginning. Makes you wonder how wild March through May is going to be.

About as wild as the 12z Euro between 216-240hrs, crazy times ahead, hope the new roof is up to it, should be, I put it on myself (with a little help of course).

Are you talking about the snow?

Looks like Friday into Saturday could be serious, though.

March comes in like a lion right? Well....the thermometer in Wilmington, N.C. certainly roared; 80F!

Stranger things have happened. It was near this date (Mar 2nd) back in in 1980, that NC experienced bitterly cold temps (in the low teens) along with heavy snow. Ahhhh. what I would give up to see another storm like that one. Go look at the hourly obvs from some of the NC cities from that storm. Absolutely incredible. At one point IMBY we had heavy snow and 10 degrees

I may have to make tentative plans to visit my hometown on the outer banks if this keeps up.

If cold air comes quicker, we might have something.

Here is the sounding for New Bern, NC

Having lived in eastern NC my whole life I can say that I have seen several snows following a severe weather outbreak. I'm not saying I buy what the GFS/NAM are saying but its not unprecedented around here either.

NAM is sticking with this solution for now. I want to believe but I know better.

Really, my last comment about the NAM was deleted in the banter thread? Some really up-tight folks here.

You should use this opportunity to reflect on how craptastic your posts truly are.

I deleted it because of the drug reference Brick, granted while kind of funny, likely to offend some folks and took the initiative to 86 before it got reported.

Skunked on the SN output from Allan's site, earl barkers page probably has an algorithm that crushes the 17 corridor. Just going off of thickness plots, I am coming up with measurable SN w/rn bordering indeterminate on the nonogram.

Is there really a chance we could see snow here? Just crazy to think the coast gets more snow than central NC.

WRAL can't get the forecast right lately when it comes to rain. Chance of showers mostly in the afternoon and evening, and it's raining now. They have been terrible the past two weeks on the timing of the precip here.
