No idea, probably a fluke event.
The storm coverage is starting to decrease. That storm is on the edge of KMIA and they will likely need to get a little more propagation of the outflow boundary to get another storm to pop over KMIA.

It's currently raining a bit at my location just 2 miles ENE of KMIA. Also, some good convection currently building around KMIA.

Yep... Certainly a cause of concern for those who didn't put precipitation down today (me included!)

I felt like it was bad idea to go 0.00" for Miami for any day, given the nature of convective showers down there. So I went with 0.03" to give me that slight advantage over everyone else if it actually rains.

Dang it...light rain and down to 85...doubt it gets to 90 now unless there was an interhour max earlier.

89 is the six hour max. Temps could recover if the storms move out quickly. Only a trace of precipitation recorded so far.

I did pretty good here on Day 2, Nailed High, Low, and Max Wind.. only had 0.10 for precip though...

I'm chilling in 829th place right now (131st out of Category 4s), LOL. I'm the top category 4 forecaster at NC State right now, though ... out of two contestants.

the winds were bumped up from 9kt to 10kt and my ranking just shifted from the 900s into the 700s. that was unexpected! still need to make up a LOT more ground!

Same thing happened here, with late day 12MPH wind max... Nice..
