Possible Severe Wind Storm late Friday-Saturday for NEUS?

Plenty of teleconnections and model suites coming into some consensus/agreement on a potential widespread synoptic scale wind storm for NY and New England. Of the model suites the EC is the most intense followed by the UK. GGEM and GFS least intense. NAM ( 21-06z) is rapidly deepening the low >

Low looks to take the climatological favored track across the northern shore of LO towards QBC with deepening during Friday. Low track would tend to favor the output from GFS, GEFS and NAM vs EC (initially too far south) and GGEM (too far east) at this point in time. Deepening of the cyclone appears likely as phasing of northern and southern streams occurs late Friday through Saturday.

GEFS Anomalies indicate a -3 to -4 deviation on the surface pressure field across the eastern lakes and Ontario to NYS and New England.
Wind anomalies from the WEST +2 to +3 @ 850 hPa and and WSW +3 to some +4 @250 hpa.

Using CSTAR research on synoptic windstorms across the NEUS this end of the week storm fits patterns from this research to become a bit more confident in a potential major windstorm. There is also some forecast data that is similar to the Feb 17, 2006 windstorm that pummeled the region causing widespread long duration power outages and also brought a squall line of severe thunderstorms with some large hail and extremely high winds (gusted to over 90 mph in Saratoga Springs).

**ANNOUNCEMENT** NON-STORM MODE: MEMBERS PLEASE READ

Upstate Members,

Due to the low activity with the non-event, AmericanWx- Upstate Region - is entering in what is called the Non-Storm mode. Additional temporary and permanent moderators will be removed from this region. The normal warn and suspend protocols are removed. Say what you want....do what you want, nobody will be here to moderate you, because you're getting screwed. Moderators will be where the action is, which is not here. KEEP ALL BANTER, PI$$ING, MOANING, "How many clouds for Syracuse" type questions in this thread. Please see below the new policies/rules that are put into affect under the Non-Storm Mode:

1. Cross thread trolling will be permitted since this is the ONLY thread, and no one will read it. If you are from another region and are here to post....WTF are you doin' here???? If it is to gloat, please lay it on hard....we deserve it.

2. Model threads will be cleared of unrelated discussion, except for those from the Upstate region, of whom each one of those members get 3 whiney posts per model run...they're gettin' shafted, so cut 'em a bit of slack.

3. In model threads, repetitive questions such as "Am I gettin' fooked again on this run?....." etc will be allowed with sympathies.

4. Please hammer the professionals that post here. Continued pestering or badgering of them with "How the f*$&* do we keep getting screwed...?" will result in the mets getting what they deserve.

5. If you post a forecast, please have some sound reasoning behind it. No one likes to get excitement built up to see cirrus clouds and then have their hopes dashed by clear starlite skies.

6. Link as many threads as you'd like in the Upstate region...again, nobody is viewing/reading.

Potential for heavy flurries...

NWS ALB calling for 1-3+ of snow Thursday into Friday in what they call "western adirondacks" but tend to mean "Gore Mountain Johnsburg area" (the western part of their "territory" I believe).

We'll see what it brings. I'm guessing rain and wet snow with very little actual accumulation, just like every other "storm" this year!

What a season! (or should that be ?)
